I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.
Here is your chance to put these rumours to rest. Chime in and let everyone know you still are alive and kicking. Post your registration number if you know it.

See what Free Republic looked like in the early daze:

I'm still here. :-)
Watch who you're calling "old timer," Bub.
Ya, I always thought it was 39, but we'll have to go with Jim's records here. Damn eastcoasters got up before is westies and registered first!
Wonder when exchoir will check in with his 49. Funny thing is, it was his antics which forced Jim to registration. The threads on that proposal went on for days. I remember when we posted with our full names and eddresses..times have changed.

BWAHAHAHA!
May 26, 1998 after lurking on the old "Whitewater" threads for awhile. Linked here through Drudge. It's been one heckofa ride!
I feel discriminated against.
You are playing the "Sign-up Date" card.
I have been a proud member since 2001. There is only one FreeRepublic, not an Edwardian 2 FreeRepublics of the Pre98 / Post 98 varieties. We are one, and we are all equal.
Besides, its the noobs from 2004 that you have to keep an eye on.
That's terrific, twinmag. Outstanding, in fact.
Well, you're no fun. I was hoping for a glib, obvious coverup.
Mine is 1740. Is that good?

You've got a lot to learn around here, kiddo.
Went to DC with my family to see the Impeachment. A glorious day!
There's no greater Liberty, nor test of stamina, than that to have a full bore discussion, -- all things considerated.
My recollection was that until the end of 1997, you could post without registering. I think that is why so many have registration dates in late Nov and early Dec 1997. I was trying to remember when I first came to FR. It was from Drudge with the White Water File Link or something like that. I think a lot of folks came over from the a-c-e-c-w usenet group.
