We need to take the day off and make sure we volunteer to drive folks to the polls.
That's the bottom line.

We have to hustle like we were 20 points behind in the polls.

I am getting really tired of this. 20-points-behind thinking does not get people to hustle. It only gets people to think their efforts are futile.

Complacency is a problem, but getting people to think they are losing is an even bigger one. People are attracted to winners. They're not attracted to losers.

Let’s outwork them every day.

And then show up to vote on Nov. 2!

The Bush signs in my neighborhood are getting not only more numerous, but LARGer!

Still, I constantly worry about over-confidence. I'll be knocking on doors at the last minute, begging folks to vote.

Kerry certainly does not represent the Southern States in the United States, by his obvious absence from these states during the campaign.

According to the polls Missouri is solidly for Bush, but in driving the eastern and southeastern areas of Jackson county (K.C. Suburbs) and counting the bumper stickers and yard signs you wouldn't know it, there are probably 10 Kerry/Edwards signs for each Bush/Chaney sign. Not sure about the reason for this; (not enough Republican workers to get the signs out? Jackson County Republican committee didn't put their money in signs?)
Another surprise in this is that the more affluent the neighborhood the more Kerry/Edwards signs you see.

On the contrary, I'm far too busy talking others into voting for good to be complacent. It's not that hard. I just ask if they want a President who will kill terrorists, or one who will try to sue them.

I'm confident we'll win. But that's not good enough. I want to give my President a landslide.

We can definately blow this if we aren't careful! Here in NM, we need at least an additional 10% of our guys to vote to balance the RAT voter fraud.

Thanks for the reminder. Everyone, remember those letters to the editor of your local rag with some truths not given by the MSM.

Yes. Especially considering the impending

Rat fraud

vote. It isn't included in the polls, as the voters are actually 6 feet underground ro behind bars, and are thus unavailable for comment.

The election of John Kerry would mean the end of the America we know today.

Come on. Scare tactics! This is exactly what we don't need. Throw off that pessimism.

In American politics, nothing should ever be taken for granted. Especially with such a divided electorate. Serious conservatives and loyal Republicans alike, are always vigilant. The doom and gloom rhetoric that so many FReepers expressed prior to the GOP convention has been replaced with a more positive outlook. While the debates are critically important this time around and could give Kerry's campaign a boost, this election is still PresBush`s to lose. And right now, the President`s reelection chances are looking good.

It's true that it's seductively easy to fall into the FReeper Echo Syndrome and think that we've got this election cinched up.

For my own part, I'm not going to relax until after the polls close on November 2nd.

It it all about the pisstivity factor.

If we turn out at the polls we will cream the opposition.

If we fail to vote, they will win.

It is that simple. This is why the vote was so close last year. Our base did not turn out 100% and failed to go to the polls.(namely the evangelicals)

The gay issue will bring them out this year IMO.

It isn't so much losing we should fear as not getting a "mandate". A squeaker of a win for Bush is still a win; however; without a solid win, the press will start calling him a lame duck before the polls close on the West Coast. Give him a blow-out and even Dan Rather would be forced to use the "M-word". (Not that Dan wouldn't fake a heart attack on the set to get out it though! "This is it Lizbeth! This is the big one!!")

"The election of John Kerry would mean the end of the America we know today."

Just playing devils advocate here..............

With a gop controlled congress and senate, how will much, if any of kerry's agenda be passed?

We all understand that without a solid 60 votes in the senate, it is nearly impossible to even get a vote to the floor on a judicial nominee.

I was engaged in a similar conversation to this one over the weekend. Just wondering what anyone's thoughts are.

We were also way ahead in 2000

That is true. I remember in the last two days reading a story about how all the reporters had booked hotel rooms in Texas and none in Tennesee. For me that was the final straw. I was convinced that W would be P easily and I told everyone that he would win and it would not be close.
