Add it to "clymer" and "to Fisk".
I love the new Rathering Lexicon :-)
Please join us in spreading the Rather lexicon.
Did Ted Koppel make the statement in your tagline and when?
Oh, absolutely believable...
A story on the premise of the war is "inappropriate" so close to the election, uh huh...
My guess is they checked their sources on this story and discovered they were bogus too.

(Wonder if Mary Mapes had anything to do with this?)
If Mapes did produce this story, then that would be the Abu Ghraib story (just who gave Mapes those pics?), the memogate story, and this one (the yellowcake story, I think). Now why do I suspect that all those stories came from the same source?
What won't happen? Dan hosting the CBS News charade, er, coverage of the debates?
I cannot fathom them saying he's going to cover all three, then yank him.
They have no credibility now.
They made fools (IMO) of themselves not even able to announce a relevant announcement on time, as announced, of the "problem" a week or so ago.
I find it hard to believe that they think they can keep Dan on, for one, and two, not having a backup plan short of
announcing that Rather has chest pains and was admitted to NYC Presbyterian Hostpital.
CBS needs an enema: The news division, PR, executives, lawyers.
I stopped watching CBS as a rule, two years ago. I won't even consider watching until Rather is completely gone.
Regarding the Koppel quote ...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1216441/posts
It's my favorite new tag thanks to CBS getting caught rathering :-)
I hope that you are right, but the left wing media, as you pointed out with the article, has gotten away with their lies for decades. This instance with Rather, will take a long time to die down, but die down it will, UNLESS the Justice Dept. gets involved and that will not happen in this election year.
They need to be prosecuted to the full limits of the law and until that happens ALL the left wing networks will continue their agenda.
The pendulum is swinging to the right, so I"m optimistic that the MSM IS going to lose the grip they have on the minds of the people of this country and when they do, the socialist who run the Democrat party today will be over.
Seeing how this is a Cbs production ...we can probably assume that the story is NOT favorable to Bush....therefore, I predict they will air this story at the end of October....just in time for the election.
CBS is still scrambling, but the writing is on the wall. Rather and Mapes have to go, and probably a few more. The affiliates and the sponsors are feeling the heat, and my guess is that there are a number of other revelations that will come out in the coming days that will increase the stench at CBS and the outrage (if that is possible).
"We all helped to spike another hit piece that was already loaded to fire"
Maybe, but I read this differently.
The story says there was a delay already in June because of "new developments." What "new developments" in the WMD issue could there be, except evidence contradicting the "no WMD's" dogma?
I think they are holding this story off because it would be a net positive for Bush. They don't want to give him a shot in the arm. That's why the proximity of the election is a mere excuse. It was not reason enough to hold off their hit piece on TANG.
"They still don't get it. No one will watch him. "
They have to keep him in the driver's seat though, because they have taken the position that he is not the problem. To replace him for a premier event like the debates would send the "wrong" message. They want to pretend it's business as usual for Dan the Man, just moving on with events.
..... "a Rather - one who lies pathologically."Well, I must say I like it. In fact it is Rather appropriate! :^D
Wonder if Mary Mapes had anything to do with this?
CBS stock is down 5 days in a row . .
"Rather would anchor the network's coverage of all three presidential debates"
And nobody will know, let alone care.
