That is because all Castro does is call the embargo a blockade. He always uses the term "bloqueo". He wants the image that the US is surrounding the island with warships blocking the island. Of course, Cuba can trade with any damn country in the world it wishes and it is still a crap hole. Heck, they even buy from US companies but it cannot be on credit it has to be by cash, I think.

Why these Limeys' opinion of U.S. foreign policy with regard to Cuba is important to us...? Is it that we may need their help? Why were they asked to give their opinion?

They just need to hang tough with us in Iraq.

Quite a while, potentially. He is still VERY articulate, apparently clear-headed, and has access to literally the very best health care in the world. I have read that he may have had experimental stem-cell injections in switzerland as well.

We could have him around 10 more years easily.

What about Newfoundland ? Did they have anything to say about invading Newfoundland ? Why wasn't Newfoundland discussed ? What do they have on Newfoundland ?? Why would they want to let the US invade Newfoundland ? What has Newfoundland done to anger the British MP's ? Why would they allow innocent people in Newfoundland to be killed ? Wheres the compassion for Newfoundlands citizens in the United Kingdom ?

Stay Safe.......Y

A report issued today, reveals that 79% of MPs, who responded to letters from their constituents on the question of aggressive US policy towards Cuba, stated that not only would they not support US military action, but that they also thought the Bush administration should change its policies towards the island.
****
The flouride challenged Brits should change their policy with N. Ireland.

The MP's can stick it.

You picked the same comment I did:

"The vast majority of the 402 MPs who replied in writing also believed that US foreign policy had caused hardship for 11 million Cubans and damaged the country’s economy."

Ah, I believe the US is the only country that does not trade with Cuba. Canada, Mexico and Europe certainly trade with Cuba. Is the American economy so important that it hurts Cuba inspite of trade with the rest of the world?

No, Castro would really be hurt, if the embargo were to be ended, that would take away his last excuse. Communism has caused devastation wherever it was tried. That's the root cause of hardship for Cubans. When Castro took over, Cuba had the second highest standard of living of all the Latin American countries, only Argentina was higher. Today, Cuba has the second lowest standard of living, only Haiti is lower.

Ok, we'll back of on our war against Cuba if the British will back off on their war against Iceland. What are these people talking about? Cuba is a gnat we have to swat once in a while, but otherwise Castro isn't even worth the time of day.

No need for an invasion of Cuba, because Castro will eventually fall, even if Raul takes control of the communist regime it won't last.

The Cubans are some of the most progressively hard-working, intellectual, and advanced individuals on earth.

My best friend of many years was Cuban as was my ex-girlfriend, both of which were working hard at freeing Cuba and helping me promote a progressive pro-US Persian nation in Iran.

In Texas, the Solicitar General is conservative Ted Cruz, Son of Cuban Immigrants he was graduated summa cum laude at Harvard Law School.

Just a "taste" of what Cubans have added to our nation.
