Un-frikin-believable.
Sorry this borders on a vanity (which I tend to object to), but I think many FReepers can appreciate this bewildering display.

DUH, and I know women who smoked, drank beer, and did drugs, all while pregnant. Then they abused the kids, malnurished them from birth until this woman gave the kids up to foster care.
Guess what, the kids today are FINE, grown up into normal, healthy adults... so what does this say? That YES, even if you do less than optimal things, your kid can grow up fine, does that mean its a good idea to do it? I think not. There are few absolutes when it comes to issues like these, but I think it is prudent on pregnant women to BETTER THEIR ODDS by doing what is best.

It is a fetus, not an "unborn child" who are they to tell the women what to do with her body...whoops oh she is smoking how horrible, she shouldn't be allowed to be a parent if she smokes.

I'm kind of taken aback by the replies in this thread & even the comments from the OP. It is a risk to smoke while pregnant. Why the inflammatory comments? She may well be a Republican & not some left-winger like so many are assuming & implying. How can you possibly know either way? And, based on the many anecdotes added to this argument (which really have no bearing on proving anything), the only way to produce a healthy, intelligent human is to smoke, smoke, & smoke some more while pregnant. Sounds like many breastfeeding vs. formula feeding arguments I've heard/witnessed/taken part in. Many people take it personally when you say one is inferior to the other & they proceed to come out of the woodwork with their genius children who happen to have been formula fed. It's pretty predictable with these types of debates.

Oh man... I just looked at the picture in question a bit closer. Is it possible that she's not holding a cigarette at all? It almost looks like she's just making a fist of sorts & the road is discolored in that general area & only looks like a cigabutt in her hand. Is that possible?

You may note that this comes from Neal Boortz, who thinks that homosexuality is genetic and is a perfectly normal alternative lifestyle. Mr. Boortz raves on his show about how people who smoke are extremely stupid and are probably democrats, yet praises Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.
