Well, the dead do not need to vote in this election because Keyes looks like he is completely out of control. Someone needs to tell Keyes that he is a horrible politician.

The GOP made a grave mistake in naming him as a replacement candidate. This will set the party back years. This is the worst mistake in the entire country.

A very big and visible error by the GOP....will hurt the GOP in Illinois for a long, long time.

But Keyes will do just fine. His speaking fees will probably go up on Nov. 3.

You are a good democrat, believe whatever you are told.

I have never been a democrat. You might want to follow my lead and not call people names and lie about them.

I think the idea of God picking sides in a Senatorial campaign is almost as silly as the idea of God picking sides in a football game

So God doesn't pick sides?

Apparently you haven't heard of God's team. You probably haven't heard of St. Vince either.

In silly things like football and politics?! I think God's got better things to do with His time. I've heard of St Vince's, so what. According to the winning QB every team is God's team, again so what. While I hope God enjoys out sports, I think He's a bit above the petty picking of sides we participate in. He might pick sides in wars, wars are often important, football and politics aren't, and I say that as a big fan of both.

I have a few questions about this latest poll in Illinois.

How can a sampling of 800 people out of 12 million be an adequte indication of the outcome of an election? Too many variables.

What was the ratio of Democrats to Republicans?

What was the ratio of blacks, whites, etc.?

What was the ratio of women to men?

Were all those people polled actually registered voters?

What kinds of questions were they asked?

Where can I find the answer to these questions?

My comment wasn't altogether serious, but I'll take it seriously for a moment. I do think God takes sides. However, I would argue that he let's us do the battling. He seems to be kind of hung up about letting us have freedom and choosing ourselves. But when you say that God cares not whether a regime is just or unjust, totalitarian or respectful of human dignity and freedom, seems contrary to certain tenets of Chrisitian Faith. Keyes has a very interesting interpretation of the "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's" verse. Keyes on rendering to Caesar

I didn't say anything about regimes, I said politics. That highly western art of the career campaign campaign, campaigning with voters, campaigning with collegues, campaigning with foreign powers. Politics, not regimes. Politics is a sport, regimes happen in environments that have no politics. An Obama win won't make a regime, it'll just put another scumbag liberal in the Senate, not like there haven't been plenty of those in there already and I'm sure there's many more to come.

I'm not trying to lie about anyone. I had heard somewhere here or on a tv program that he was Muslim. Period.

I didn't say anything about regimes, I said politics.

I use the word regime in the classical sense. Every government is a regime. At stake in the Keyes and Obama is the very regime itself. Shall we be a democratic republic founded on principles of right, on self-government and on the division of governments -- or shall we continue on the path towards the Obomination of those principles and rights towards an ever more totalitarian regime?

Outside the looking glass, politics is precisely about regimes.

I'll wait and pass judgement on that when I learn more about him. Not everyone who says they are Christians, ARE Christians. I hope he is.

This is ridiculous!! We live in America, where we believe in a seperation between church and state. Who cares if the man is Christian or not? Does that make him any less of good person? Here is a question for you: If a Christian was running on a platform you oppose and a Muslim or Jew was running on a platform you support who would you vote for? As long as the candidate is a decent person with good morals who cares what his religion or ethnic background is?
