American Muslims protesting against the Terrorists (dare I say,
finally?).
Let's hope it is the start of a trend.

Well... it's about bloody time.

This is just cover. Don't fall for it.
They'll gladly try to distance themselves from it sometimes, but it's all a ploy. Too much evidence that islam is trying to conquor the world in the most violent way possible.

I'm sure the Nazis held PR funeral services for Jews, too.

It's about damned time!
I wonder, though, if this is truely heartfelt - or is it a way to deflect some of the heat American muslims are starting to feel.

"Al Taqiyah" is the name for sanctioned lying, to further islam.
I'll only come to believe it, if the stand becomes more firm, more long term, fewer buzz words of qualification.
Unconditional is what I expect.
Have they "protested" palestinians blowing up discos and busses, full of innocent civilian women, children and old folks? Not yet.
Didn't think so.

I hate the "permitted atrocities" in the Quran...I do like American muslims making a strong statement..They may be feeling the heat because it looks bad for Islam..but we wanted them to speak out so I am glad when they do.

Perhaps, at last, they are beginning to understand that they must stand up and face down this threat - that the threat to American Muslims does not come from Americans, but from Islamic Extremists.
This is certainly a positive step, and one which I want to commend them for taking.

Speaking as someone born and raised in Georgia, I hate the fact that these (****s) are even in my state. Their CAIR press release means nothing to me. They can rot in hell along with the other members of their death cult. I am not falling for their
taqiyah

If this is a propaganda exercise as others have suggested, it's fairly shrewd.
However we might also consider that many Muslims are refugees from brutal Muslim societies and oppressive governments. They might be seeing in these barbaric acts exactly the things that made them leave their homelands.
I'd observe that this isn't going to make them very popular back home or even with other Muslims here in the States.

Sounds like just tooting in the wind to me. Under the table, they are still giving millions to the Islamic charities for murder, mayhem, and suicide-for-sex.

It's true, that we will never win this war on terror without the vast majority of muslims rejecting the terrorists actions. It's going to be a long haul. This one tribute to an American murdered in Iraq is a good start, but it's only a grain of sand in a desert compared to the work ahead.
To: OrthodoxPresbyterian
This was simply an act of deception. Muslims call it the practice of 'Al Taqiyah'. It is condoned and even encouraged in order to keep your enemy off guard while you use time to your advantage.
The long-term goal of Islam is to conquer the world. See link in article The Islamic States of America by Daniel Pipes at: http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=15169

By appealing to our "better angels", islamists simply seek to lull the gullible among us into a false sense of security.
Prey is easier to kill that way.
Never fall for it.
The ideology of islam must be removed from the planet by any means necessary.

Local talk show here in Georgia took calls on this topic yesterday. Almost every caller was saying "too little too late". The Muslim community was silent during the hostage taking. When Jack Hensley was beheaded the anger here in Georgia rivaled the Berg beheading. We took it personal. I think the Muslim community heard the anger and is running for cover.
Still, it's better than nothing.
