[history]
Cool.
Mod update.
Ordinary Americans have dragged slowly but surely other big institutions to the truth. The big institutions were the last to arrive at the truth and some of them to this moment are still not there. Now I realize that within this new alternative media there exists some jealosy,. I sense that some people dont want to give the blogosphere the full credit. They have to parcel it out because every body wants a piece of the action; this is quite normal, this is human nature. The fact of the matter is that it was the blogosphere and it was a couple of sites: Powerline and FreeRepublic. And FreeRepublic has been one of the most impugned blogs / websites in the history of websites by the very institution that has been brought down.
When Dan Rather talked about partisan political operatives, he means those who lurk at FreeRepublic. Who is FreeRepublic, its ordinary Americans liberals look down at ordinary Americans, dont know have enough decision making power, [?] do the right thing, not smart enough
You dont know how much it grates on them at CBS that its something like FreeRepublic or one of their chat rooms or one of the FReepers there or the Powerline
you have no idea that it irritates them that that kind of person brought them down. An average, ordinary untrained journalist that
you just do not know how this irritates them inside. More than the fact that they got caught, its who caught them that irritates them.
And, so just as I started out
I was a fad, and I was a liar, and I made it up and I was bad for America and I posed threats to democracy, as the cover of Time said. So now the same things are being said about the bloggers. Fox news has had its turn and we all continue rotating in the criticism carousel of the left.

I hope we all wille welcome the newbies. Yes, we'll get some trolls, but the anti-troll forces at work will keep doing their job.

Since memogate, I've seen more real Newbies rather than troll variety. Mostly they are looking for information to catch-up on all things conservative.
We should have links to these threads on the Front Page to help them out (maybe we do - I haven't seen it since my bookmarks go directly to threads).

I heard Rush on the radio as I was out shopping for a noon snack. It was one of the best editorials Rush has done in quite a while.
You are right, we should hear from some new trolls. But, we should also gain a few newbies worth keeping. It's okay to dream, Sarge.

He compared the impact forums like FR are having today in 2004 with his show's impact when he entered the radio scene in Aug-1988. Well, he is right.

Keith Olberman's show the other night, in dissecting Rathergate, referring to FReepers as radical ..I heard it. "Right win radicals"
But Olberman is just as obnoxious, as is Matthews who made some cutting comments about "bloggers" that same night.
MSNBC is really hostile to us and to blogs in general. Which is interesting because Matthews is merely a political hack, and Olberman is a sportcaster tal;king head. Neither one is a real journalist, which is what makes them so sensitive about being "real journalists."

Have a mug too.
BobJ has been pinged a couple times to take a look at it for possible use somewhere. Haven't heard anything back from him.
Thanks for the kudos,

I also heard Rushman praise this site. and ,it is my opinion, that if we do win this election, there are two major entities that will deserve a LOT of credit::
In this order:
THE SWIFTBOAT VETERANS.
It was the swifties that began the trend of reversing the kerry lead. Near the demoncractic convention, kerry had a lead in nearly ALL of the polls. Bush had been inpuned by months and years of constant harranguing by Kerry, Moore, mediafund, moveon, etc. Many were saying"this is Kerry's race to lose". and, it did look bad. THEN, the swiftboat guys came forth with that little ad, and Kerry, much as he tried to, was NOT able to disprove their charges. ans then, after many dionations from people like us(i have donated twice to them), they were able to raise enough money, to produce several more ads. this turned the tide in our favor.
THE"BLOGOSPHERE", This site, and maybe a few others. Dan and the Cbs boys tried to put forth a "last ditch effort", to derail Bush, with phony documents. documents designed to show that Bush had LIED about his guard service. This could have seriously hurt Bush. BUT, bloggers, or the "pajamma crowd", of which i consider myself a member, saw that wouold not be the case, and now, Cbs has been THOROUGHLY discredited.
I have seen the polls today, and I know some of them do not look good. Here in Ohio, however, I feel that Bush is doing well. I also think some of these polls are rigged, to show Kerry in a better light.
SO, lets not stop NOW. there are still several weeks to go to the election. I have a number of people i am working on to convince of the truth, for this election. We all must stay strong. I do feel that we will prevail.and when we do, we SHOLUD ALL GIVE A HUGE SHOWING OF GRATITUDE TO THE SWIFTBOAT VETS, WHO GOT THE BALLROLLING FOR ALL OF US!!!!!!!

"Does anyone have that pic Rush had, a bout "Your Average FReeper"? Wasn't it less than complimentary?" The picture isn't understood out of the context of the situation (he was being attacked by some single-issue nit-wits) that was occurring. Some didn't even understand it in context. I'm the one that started the thread on that subject at the time.

isn't there a better way to fund this site??? Yes there is. It is called being a regular donor to FR. I think that it would be safe to say that Jim Rob believes in free enterprise and the free exchange of ideas.
