The Kerry Tongue Flick - Complete with photos
Daily Recycler ^

Posted on 09/22/2004 11:35:48 AM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs

Roll Over Gene Simmons

Are we the only ones to have noticed how often John Kerry pushes his tongue out of his mouth when he speaks? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

We were watching a recording of Kerry's appearance on Letterman and actually found ourselves distracted by the constant flicking and probing of the senator's red yahzik.

We eventually decided to take a few screenshots and post them up. Trying to take screenshots at first was like a game of whack-a-mole. But after a while there was a certain zen to it all -- we could feel when it was going to appear.

We were busy. Ninety-four times it popped out! And that's not counting the rebound-wags, tooth-probes, lip-diggers, half-rollers, split-flips, or even any biting-curls! An animated gif would have been too big, so we put together this instead... (Don't get confused! That actually is his tongue, not his bottom lip.)

I still think what you saw was probably a trick of the camera and the lighting. It is kind of like the red eye you sometimes see in pictures caused by a bright flash. I don't think he could get away with wearing colored contact lenses without everybody noticing and making a fuss over it. It is possible, but not likely.

Constant tongue flicking, accompanied by mental confusion and short term memory loss is a common side effect of Botox injections - especially if administered by injection in the area of the brain.

Watch for Edwards. He does the weird tongue flicking thing too.

We'll have to watch for it in the VP debate. He's been AWOL from the campaign trail and the news ever since the night of the melt-down in Ohio on the final day of the Republican convention.

isn't constantly licking one's lips a sign of drug abuse?

If its not to lubricate his new synthetic pearly whites, its usually because a person is nervous/telling a lie.

Are you series? I was thinking more in terms of anti cancer meds or something to do with his prostate. This thread should have a super barf alert. It is probably high anxiety tongue flicker's disease.

POWERFUL! thank you - am emailing to everyone - along with this one that's on powerlineblog
http://members.cox.net/classicweb/Heroes/heroes.htm

the thinly veiled liberal excuse that we can't show these photos because we might get 'angry' - more like we might not forget and might remember why we are in Iraq and what our forces are doing to keep us safe - and then reelect Pres Bush.

Hey - "W" a hunk - always was - and if they just keep showing those photos of him when he was a pilot in the guard, his numbers with the women will just keep climbing.
But seriously, I've been ruminating on the body language of the two men: Kerry shouts and gestures and points his fingers at his 'subjects'
Bush talks in a level voice, with an open palm - friendly and not condescending.
I hadn't noticed the tongue problem with Kerry 'cause I can't stand to watch him! I keep up with most of my news online, not TV, because I live way out in the woods - love it - but don't get FOX anymore, : (

DRY MOUTH - Xerostomia

Most often, chronic dry mouth is caused by:

Side effect of drug therapy. More than 400 medicines can cause the salivary glands to make less saliva. Medications used to treat hypertension, anxiety, depression or psychosis cause the most difficulty. Antihistamines, antispasmodics, cancer-chemotherapy drugs, decongestants, and muscle relaxants often cause dry mouth.

Health conditions such as extensive radiation therapy to the face and neck can cause severe dry mouth.

Many disease effect saliva flow: Sjogren's syndrome*, bacterial and viral infections, poorly controlled diabetes, salivary-gland stones, tumors, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, anxiety, HIV/AIDS, depression, Bell's palsy, and Parkinson's disease. Alzheimer's and stroke can not feel the wetness in their mouth.

Chemotherapy drugs that are used to treat cancer can make saliva thicker causing the mouth to feel dry.

Poorly controlled diabetes may result in a neuropathy to these glands and a subsequent decrease in secretions leading to dry mouth.

Nerve damage from an injury to the head or neck that tell salivary glands not to make saliva.

Attachment loss from periodontal disease or who have had root caries are especially vulnerable to the adverse effects of xerostomia.
