22 years USMC, 1970 - 1992. Could not deploy with women in our aviation maintenence unit in Fleet Marine Force due to this reason. Nothing personally against women in service to our country, but it cripples units like mine when deployed and doesn't create atmosphere of 'esprit de corps'.
Weapons are to be used against the enemy, not a preganancy detector.
Then is the only solution to return to a policy of no women in combat roles, period? When I was active, there were no women on my warship (USS Dwight D. Eisenhower), and we never had problems with combat readiness.
