We will have to agree to disagree. There are numbers and actions that show trends that you deny. I'm actively trying to AVOID a pissing contest over this.
I want Islam to evaporate. I want Communism to blow away with it, or separately.
In the case of Communism and it's possible rebirth, you may even be right that the numbers are not in its favor. That does NOT mean that the attempt will not be made. The next gasp of communism may be its last, but who gets hurt, and how many?
Confronting the possibility make us stronger, not weaker. The President agrees, which is why he publicly upbraided Putin on his actions.

In the case of Communism and it's possible rebirth, you may even be right that the numbers are not in its favor. That does NOT mean that the attempt will not be made. The next gasp of communism may be its last, but who gets hurt, and how many? Communist or Fascism can rise under different name and in different location. That Communists took power in Russia in 1917 was a surprise - the Communists were very strong in Western Europe while in Russia they were a tiny sect. The only reasons why they had luck were the following:
1. Last tsar was very gentle man and allowed his most vicious enemies like Lenin to survive and go into exile. (Brits and others had no such scruples).
2. Russia was weakened by the bloody war and Western "allies" were pushing Russians to accept weak democratic government which was no capable to rule and demanded continuation of military effort.
3. Germans financed and help Bolsheviks to return and stage a coup (called later a Revolution).
4. Western "allies" imposed so stringent requirements and sanctions on Russians fighting against Communists that the later won the civil war.
And you know the rest of the story.
Next times the Brown or Red menace will take another country, probably under the guise of Political Correctness.

We don't disagree that much. Russians generally follow strong leaders, regardless of that leader's philosophy. And, they have been conditioned to harsh leadership for generations. Surveys cited in various Foreign Policy journals have indicated that the Russian populace would rather have order than American type freedom, even if obtaining that order required a return to Communism. This would not surprise me but it would not scare me either. The world has changed too much in the last 15 years. The resurrection of a USSR, Stalinist global power desirous of world domination is at best a minimal possibility.
However, that is not the issue here. The issue is that this thread was started in an attempt to deflect attention away from the islamic roots of terror and toward a fringe dweller's conspiracy theory that it is the left in all its forms that is the real source of the terrorism we face and that they have cleverly duped us into blaming islam.
