I, for one, am preparing for exactly this. Will it fly? I don't thind so, but the CYA going on is quite remarkable.

Bob Selznik is exactly right to point out that Dan Rather lied to his viewers last Friday night when he told them he had thoroughly checked out the story, sources, and had experts who verified authenticity. Not only that, Rather didn't tell viewers anything about Max Cleland or Joe Lockhart being involved.

Boiled down to bottom line, Rather is still being dishonest with viewers. Of course he should be fired, but not till we find out why he himself hasn't called for Mary Mapes to be fired. Think about it. Rather should be furious that Mapes got him into all this trouble! Something else, Rather didn't tell viewers that CBS only had those documents for 5 days before they ran with the story.

Scarborough said Rather is still claiming the documents are authentic. Ya gotta wonder at this point, if Burkett has fewer mental problems than Dan!
