What??? Hey Mort, Dan Rather is a READER!!! He has been for years. It's the producer, MARY MAPES, who did the legwork. I think the whole organization needs to go down the tubes.
Maybe (against all logic, she types), CBS will have to address these charges, and explain how Max Cleland and Joe Lockhart talked to Burkett on the phone, but both of them claim they didn't know him. That alone is unbelieveable since Burkett made the tv rounds last Feb.
If CBS issues the results of it's internal investigation without mentioning Mapes coziness to Lockhart, or without explaining how Burkett got Max Cleland's cell phone number, their investigation will be seen as a sham.
