Read that while the steel unions are supporting Kerry, the rank and file are totally supporting Bush and have said so. IIRC, it was Bush that imposed trade practices to give steel makers some breathing room, much to the chagrin of the free-traders.

The last poll of unions that I saw combined *all* unions, including government and teachers unions, and had a split vote of something like 47% JFK to 38% GWB, which is an OUTSTANDING performance for our side in that demographic.
