Halliburton Slams Kerry In Response To New Attack Ads
Dow Jones ^ | 9/17/04

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Halliburton Corp. (HAL) slammed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on Friday, in a response to Kerry's new attack on Vice President Dick Cheney's ties to the Houston-based oil company.

"It's tragic that apparently Halliburton's efforts on the warfront are so poorly understood by Senator Kerry on the home front," Halliburton said in a statement.

"Senator Kerry quotes from a reality television show, but Halliburton's reality in Iraq is real," the firm said. The company provides a range of troop support and oil field services to the U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Earlier Friday, the Kerry campaign unveiled a new ad focusing on the delayed- compensation package being paid by Halliburton to Cheney and the no-bid contracts the company won from the Bush administration in Iraq.

You know, there's nothing to stop Halliburton from putting out commercials to clear the name of the company. Wouldn't that frost the Dems butts?

Those guys are risking their lives over in Iraq and Kerry continues to demean our military, our allies, and Halliburton. In truth, there is only one other company in the world who could do what Halliburton does.

But the leftists don't understand business any more than they understand war.

As well, considering that Kerry won't release his military, medical or wife's financial papers, he is one to talk about full disclosure and secrets and all the conspiracy theory crap he spouts.

I was just thinking today that I found it odd that after all these years of slander Halliburton hasn't ripped someone a new one.

Wouldn't that make an interesting CFR case.. Halliburton launches a half billion advertising campaign to clear it's name after being run through the muck by Kerry, and directly attacks Kerry on every flip-flop vote that affected their company.

I can wish and dream...

I heard on TALK RADIO today that there is a high ranking Kerry adviser that is also a $500,000.00/yr consultant/lobbyist for Halliburton, or was??

Can't remember if it was on Laura's, Glen's, Rush's or Hannity's radio program?

LOL...... the SKerry is about to mess with the wrong group....

Delayed compensation package.... Yep didn't the dems raise such a fit that Cheney had to cash some of it in at huge profits rather than hold or take it in portions? I can't remember the details....

What a great way to get your message out. After two weeks on Blather forging documents we then transition to Haliburton answering Kerry's slander about their service, with narry a mention of any real campaign issue in between.

Political geniuses over there at the DNC. F'n geniuses.

Hmmm...has anybody asked Kerry who he'd hire to fill Halliburton's very large combat boots? Is there some French firm he's looking to hire...maybe Schlumberger?

The Kerry campaign may soon learn just how foolish it is to take a swing at a corporation with a quality PR staff. You better have all your ducks in a row or they'll be serving you Duck al'Orange.

Good for them. These guys are risking their lives, about time people understood that. John Kerry has no more right to tarnish their contributions than he does our troops or allies in this war.

They should run a full scale PR blitz to let the American people know their real contributions to this war effeort.

I wonder how Lurch would like it if this article had the name Heinz substituted for Haliburton? Oh the howls of "unfair". I can hear them now.

John Kerry has not changed in the 30+ years since his senior year in college when he wrote against the Vietnam War.

His congressional testimony cements his contempt for America and what we stand for. He lied then to try to bring down this country and good men died.

He is lying now, to bring down a sitting president and grab power.

This man truly has no soul.

More than that. Halliburton could put out commercials telling the truth about these 'no-bid' contracts. They could explain what they do as a business(which I guarantee you 95% of people don't know the truth about). They could explain who the company is and who they employ and the communities they've been in for years.

In short, every time a Dem spits 'Halliburton' out as a sign of the evil of this administration, the company has the right to respond, not as an election issue, but as corporate PR. I don't think any measure of campaign finance would apply.

Message from Iraq

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute To our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is By taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country." Semper Fi 1stSgt Dave Jobe

quite honestly I wish Halliburton would put out there how many of their employees have been killed over there....whenever it's announced that another Halliburton employee has died, they just say "Halliburton employee" but when it's about anything else to do with Halliburton, it's "Halliburton, the firm VP Cheney used to head" and it makes me want to hurl!!!!
