This is a PUBLIC airport. It used to be safe to go to places like these. And yes, in an earlier, more kinder America, I would have taken my kids to see the Presidential or Vice Presidential candidates of either party as a Civics lesson.

This is a PUBLIC airport. It used to be safe to go to places like these.Yes it's a public airport. No one is saying that this guy went parading down the aisle of Kerry headquarters. Now, let's examine the central questions here:
- Why was he at the public airport? Because Edwards was landing there and he was there to protest Edwards.
- Does he have a right to do that? Yes.
- Does he know that by going there he's doing a provacative act that could make people angry? Yes.
- Should he realize that there is a good chance that he'll meet with an angry and defiant Kerry/Edwards supporter? Yes
- Does he understand that such a confrontation will be frightening to his little girl? He should.
- Knowing that, should he leave his 3-year old at home and go protest without her? YES!!!
I'm all for civics lessons, but c'mon, isn't 3-years a little young for the civics lesson that there are jerks in the world who will scare you and tear up the pretty sign you're holding?
