~10:41pm~ EST JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ABILENE KINKOS: Bill Burkett has a standing account with the Kinkos in Abilene Texas, and while the lady who answered the phone would not be more specific she did say Burkett was in there last week - she waited on him on last (a week ago) Tuesday....

It's Bill Burkett, but Karl Rove utilized the starship's transporter to superimpose his mental image over the Burkett body...

Oh... Wait, transporters don't exist...

Well, the issues' serious and needs to be addressed regardless...

"The source had to be very very believable to CBS."

Or else Rather figured they were questionable and didn't care, thinking that it would be difficult to prove and that the incriminating 'content' would overshadow any doubt about the source.

You know the lefties are a dishonorable bunch, and they are united in their hatred for Bush. I'm guessing that Rather thought the heavily biased MSM would come to his defense and beseige the people with articles and programs about "the content", (like Rather is doing now). I'm sure he also figured the MSM would attack the credibility of any hostile document experts by labeling them "right wing Bush people". What he didn't know was that the documents had more holes in them than Swiss Cheese, and even the MSM couldn't defend them.

As Rather keeps babbling on and on about the "questions the documents raise", it becomes apparent that this was his original plan, and he's obsessed with this thing. So the long and short of it is that Rather was relying on the smear effect monopolizing the media and eclipsing the doubt about the authenticity of the documents. He thought wrong, and he's screwed.

If there a fax number "from" with a time stamp then we know what fax machine it came from so... in the Tx Kinkos fax machine there would be fax log of what number "out-to" with a time stamp to compare with (in case it didn't go direct to CBS first...also there would be a phone bill (in case the log is cleared) for that Tx Kinkos faxs line that can be compared to....Shall we look at all the fax traffic at that TX Kinkos that might be to “interesting” people and "groups" over the last few months?...any outgoing or incoming fax traffic to the DNC or other ?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this smells like bait (as in disinformation) and not a real fish on the hook.

They just called the number that is stamped across the top of the documents.

The number isn't shown on any document publicly available. Robert Strong told the Wash Post that he saw an original, pre-pdf copy, on 5 SEP, than had the words - literally - Kinko's Abilene. Turns out, there's only one in Abilene. That's how the Post got it, not from any numbers we've seen. Rather - no pun intended - it was inside info.

Nothing like that. There isn't any such clue on the documents released in pdf, either from CBS, USA Today, or the Whitehouse. Instead, the Wash Post got this as inside information from Robert Strong, who was shown one of the photocopies by CBS on 5 SEP which has some extraneous printing on it, not shown in the pdf. And it literally read - Kinko's Abilene.

That is the 9th. That date is stamped on the documents.

The question is........ was Burkett dumb enough to use his Kinko's account/card to pay for the fax service?!

Yes, we have to be careful about sorting through what is real and what is just another hoax. At the moment we have some credibility because of the memogate work, but I can well imagine there are a lot of people who want to make the jammy set look stupid.
