so MSNBC just reported
CBS punted.
Obviously, they could not come to an agreement on how best to lie.
WOnder what her living arrangements are and how much they are paying her??????
The old lady may be 88 by the time they get this done.

Well, don't we all feel silly.
This statement makes the past 6 hours of mockery seem childish. Clearly they authenticated the documents or they wouldn't be on air!
Nah, It was when Gunga Dan said "I think hes an honest man....I think at core hes an honest person....I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things."
That's what I believe.
We have to be careful in repudiating this woman.
Other the GOP collectively looks like a bunch of bullies.
CBS has planned for this, I think. They're trotting this woman out to give Rather's scam some cover.
"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were "accurate" or we would not have put them on television. ..."
ACCURATE? How about "legitimate"? How about "NOT FORGED"? I smell a lawyer.
Here we go: "Though the documents were forged, they still express the thoughts on Killian at the time and it up to President Bush to address their contents as if they were not forged."
This really is right out of Network. Rather's gone mad.
Don't forget we are the choir in here. The masses will see a nice old lady who says the documents are fake but what they say is true. Rather will say "See - I told you so. Now its time for Bush to answer the questions." The masses will then wonder why Bush hasn't answered the questions (even though they have been answered - its the preception, not the facts that matters). It then becomes way too complicated for the masses and they say - OK - Bush was AWOL - he's no different than Kerry. And that's all that Kerry wanted with this thing - he got what he wanted - Bush is dragged down to his level. The MSM then covers nothing but the Bush AWOL story.
Sheesh, didn't they learn anything from Watergate about how the coverup is worse than the crime? If they had admitted they were wrong about the documents last Friday, they would have been a lot better off.
COMING THIS FALL:
Kerry and the Secretary
Well, my guess is that Mr. Rather was leaving turns out to be completely wrong.
It is not clear why it took so long and so many blown self-imposed deadlines to come out with "we are still convinced that the memos are legitimate." That is non-news -- why not let the furore die away a bit, instead of stirring it up with this theatrical non-news?
For this we waited all day! How stupid does CBS thinks viewers are??
Need quick help ... working on a parody ... how old is Dan rather?
I think they spent those 6 hours trying to forge better documents. CBS workers must feel a lot like Kerry supporters right now: embarrassed.
Maybe. Never mind. Gotta go put on my pj's. BRB.
