Kennedy to Hit Campaign Trail for Kerry

Tue Sep 14, 6:30 PM ET

By LOLITA C. BALDOR, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (news, bio, voting record), often credited with giving a boost to John Kerry (news - web sites)'s presidential campaign, is launching a seven-week election drive for his Massachusetts colleague that will pair fund raising and travel with a barrage of speeches condemning President Bush (news - web sites)'s policies.

Kennedy, D-Mass., will make two campaign stops in Pennsylvania on Friday, in addition to appearances around the country nearly every weekend as a surrogate for Kerry. While the Senate remains in session, Kennedy plans almost daily rebukes of Bush's policies, ranging from the war in Iraq (news - web sites) to health care and education.

Kennedy waged a similar war of words against Bush four years ago for Democrat Al Gore (news - web sites). But this time, his work for Kerry will be more active and involve much more travel, Kennedy's aides said.

They would not release a list of places where Kennedy is expected to campaign, but said the liberal Democrat will be in battleground states across all regions of the country.

Kennedy said he is intent on defeating Bush and putting Kerry in the White House, and will lay out the administration's "incompetence" in its domestic and foreign policies in his speeches.

He started Tuesday with a condemnation of Bush's efforts at solving the nation's health care crisis.

"George Bush (news - web sites) has had a lot to say about health care over the last few days, but nowhere has the Bush presidency been more devastating," said Kennedy, who will speak about health care in Harrisburg and Scranton on Friday.

Republicans, meanwhile, have rejoiced in the opportunity to link Kerry with his home state's liberal lion — one of the politicians conservatives love to hate.

During the primary contests this year, Kennedy allowed Kerry to hire two of his key staffers, including Mary Beth Cahill, who is now Kerry's campaign manager. Kennedy later traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire to help energize crowds and rally the liberal base for Kerry.

Yea, I can see bar owners of Iowa and New Hampshire considering a possible change of political attitude after the abrupt increase in cash flow.

Poor guy; his face looks like one large ulcer. Is that from drinking? In the picture on the left, what is that line going up his back and down his right arm?

Good, let The Blob come and remind the midwest why they don't like Massachusetts Liberals. Its not as if hes even popular in his home state. Its more of a case of "He may be a sonuvabi***, but he's our sonuvabi***."

As I have predicted, Kennedy will contribute to Kerry's whirl wind make over in the speech dept. Kennedy will teach Johnny Boy how to have a few drinks and loosen up. Next he will teach Kerry how to give an over the top rip roaring speech; salted with lots of four letter words and commie doctrine. When the make over is complete, Kerry will step out before the crowds so on fire, that even the queer eye will be blinded.

Former Dukakis campaign manager, John Sasso, along with political director,
Paul Tully, are hauling out the big guns to revitalize the lagging Kerry campaign.

"Man these guys are good. I love photo-ops that make me look commanding."

Ham-handed Kennedy should just about complete the job of destroying Kerry's chances of winning.

When your campaign has become as fragile as a "china shop", you don't turn a bull loose in it.

This has to be an idea launched by some of the Clinton left-overs to make sure Hillary has a clear shot at the presidency in 2008.

Looks more like the angry StaPuff Marshmallow fellow, to me.

I can see the resemblance to W.C.Fields, too, however.

And then there's Jabba the Hutt.

I've told this story on fr before, but it bears repeating:

During the first weeks of Gulf War I, I was in a service school attended by members of all the military branches. One day a bunch of us were gathered in the dayroom watching CNN (no FOX back then) when on comes Rantin' Ted Kennedy.

Teddy starts in about the war and about 41 and just bushels and bushels of excrement was flowing out of his mouth.

All of a sudden, from the back of the dayroom I heard a chant. Faint at first, growing ever louder, a group of Marines were chanting "Mary Jo! Mary Jo! Mary Jo!"

Soon the whole dayroom full of officers joined in until thunderous shouts of "Mary Jo!" could be heard throughout the building.

I went home that night and told DH that Mary Jo, at least, had not died in vain. Her memory had kept that vile man from higher office, and she haunted him still.

sKerry is just too stupid to be president and this is more proof.

yeah, what was that song Hannity had audio of drunken Ted (redundant) singing after the Rat convention (when all the Rats still thought the convention actually had been successful)?

Actually, his head is too big for his glasses

They fit when he bought them. Something happened to make his head swell.
