I love watching the media jackals ripping each other apart!! I LOVE IT!!!
But for now, God bless ABC for bird-dogging that pig Rather even if they too are biased pukes. But the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Won't be long, and GungaDan will be nothing more than a late-night monologue punch line.

John Roberts said that CBS "continues to stand by its reporting"
...while continuing to stand on a pile of manure. :-)

Good for ABC.
Roberts is such a hypocrite with that attack the messenger line. When have they not done that in defense of a liberal? Hmm...over zealous prosecutor, vast rightwing conspiracy, poltiically motivated bloggers, Republican funded Swiftees (as though that makes them automatically wrong), and so forth.

The ripping by the Washington Post this morning doesn't count? It was the definitive setdown by a non-conservative print paper so far.

ABC was once the "upstart" network back in the 60's. Maybe there's some overdue payback being coordinated by some old-line ABC producers.

Chick fight!!! JFK was counting on the MSMs unqualified support for his campaign revival. This whole thing is just getting way too funny. My question; Will Blather blindly follow the Rats instructions next time????

The next big question: How do the major papers treat CBS' report tonight? And when do we start to see the first non-conservative editorials and columns ripping the network? There have been comparisons to this issue and Watergate, and I am starting to think they may fit (how ironic is THAT?)
The Washington Post beat up on Nixon for a year and the NYTimes for about 8 months without taking him out. However, when the Midwest "non-liberal elite" newspapers started editorializing for Nixon to resign, he was finished.
This story is moving very fast. ABC jumping in is a big development. By this weekend we could see some newspapers start to opine against CBS. In my most optimistic mode, I see Rather giving CBS an ultimatum mid next week: "You either continue to support me on this --OR ELSE!!" And then the "or else" happens. I can dream, can't I?

My source familiar with the internal discussions at CBS describes the atmosphere at the network offices tonight as "madness" and "toxic".
I bet that's an understatement (LOL).
The real behind-the-scenes battle has the CBS Young Turk "Journalists" tag-teamed with the Finance Group (with copies of 100,000 e-mails to CB$ $ponsors threatening mass-revenue loss) unless this fiasco ends IMMEDIATELY.
Recall the "aborted-at-the-last-minute" 2003 Nuclear War between India and Pakistan ?
It ended (before it started) when "traitorous" Outsourcing U.S. Corporations DEMANDED that India's Military "shut-up and sit-down", or else all those millions of Outsourced U.S. jobs would get transferred ASAP to Eastern Europe.
Well, the same argument is being made at CBS right now.
Dan Rather's "business model" is obsolete, and CBS shareholders won't tolerate it for 60 seconds ... and are threatening to dump CBS stock for Fox News, if Dan Rather isn't muzzled.

"The next big question: How do the major papers treat CBS' report tonight? And when do we start to see the first non-conservative editorials and columns ripping the network?"He's behind the curve on this. Already, lamestream newspapers are calling CBS into question. Papers like the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and Dallas Morning News.
