How shrewd of the DNC to do this the same week Kerry goes to speak to the National Guard Assn.

This 'new' strategy by the DNC is almost too good to be true. Terry McAwful must be getting directions directly from Karl Rove.

If Bush can't say he was active air force, then Kerry shouldn't say he was a swift boat captain. After all, Bush was in the air force longer than Kerry was a swift boat captain.

1. ANG is a part of the USAF
2. When in basic training at Lackland and during the entire technical training (in this case 2 yrs of flight training) you are technically mobilized and on "active duty in the USAF." Your chain of command at this time is USAF not ANG. Same thing happens if your unit gets mobilized, your chain of command shifts from the governor of your state to the presidential chain of command and you become active duty Air Force period.

By this logic. isn't Kerry lying when he says he was in the Navy and not the Naval Reserves?

This is the work of the Clintonistas. It follows from: the definition of "is", oral sex is not sex, etc. Only this time they are torturing the English language for attack not defense.

Oh, PLEASE! I was US Naval Reserve for over twenty years. That included two tours in Vietnam and making every single qualification and duty assignment as the regular US Navy, plus do every type of duty as USN. Only real difference: my pension is 1/4 that of my USN counterpart.

Only a Liberal Dweeb would think ANG ans USAF duty was different.

Don't you just love how the Dem's shoot themselves in the foot so often.

I can't wait to hear the DNC say they were set up once again by Karl Rove!

I was active duty USAF from 1983 to 1992 and Il Air National Guard from 1992 to 1994. When I was in Basic Training we were taught about the "Total Force" concept. In other words, the total force of the USAF included the National Guard and the Reserves. It should be in the training manuals.

Kerry needs to tell us what the "USNR-R" means on his
enlistment papers. In particular that first "R".

While he's at it, he can tell us exactly what assignment
he thought he was signing up for (it wasn't Swift boats,
and it wasn't Vietnam - those came later when he thought,
mistakenly, that transferring to PCFs was a reasonably
safe way to get some "PT Boat" time on the 'ol resume).

I've been donating money to the Swiftvets. If the Dems keep this up, I might just cut out the middleman. The way they keep digging themselves in deeper, I'm just going to go to the hardware store, buy a truckful of shovels, and mail them to the DNC.

John F'n Kerry claims that he was in the U.S. Navy.

He wasn't. He was in the Naval Reserve

Excuse me Kerry.

I'm in the Air National Guard and consider myself very much so in the Air Force.

Especially when I landed 40 km south of Iraq in a C-130.

Or do I need a purple heart to qualify?

Active Duty - An employment status of the United States Air Force personnel that states the member was Regular Air Force, or Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve in training or on duty.

From U.S. Air Force.
