Your post does cut to the heart of the matter. It is sad that not a single news outlet is able to express the essence of what is going on, which is engineered decption of the public. Not just the forgeries, but EVERY political news story is engineered deception, or smoke.

Media is corrupt, and the public is just waking up to that fact. Politics is corrupt, and people wish it wasn't. Our education system is corrupt, and doesn't teach critical thinking skills.

You either tow the hardline or they out you.

That is a hallmark of the DEM party. The cult preys on the human desire to be included in a group, and uses expulsion as a tool to enforce doctrine.

Then I HOPE that Burkett is our man. Even if he isn't solely responsible, he still makes a good patsy from the DNC standpoint.

If the DNC and Kerry campaign had the documents (not that they created them, just that the had them), then they are in deep kimshee as well. They have the same ability to question and determine authenticiy as any honesty-mined person. Fact is, they are not honesty-minded, and this incident is clear and convincing evidence of that FACT.

I read on some other site (written by a trial lawyer, no less), that the fact that the underlining was obviously added by and then shown by CBS would taint them and make them totally irrelevant. A lawyer worth their salt would immediately make them inadmissible in a court of law.

Check the USA Today site for the 6 documents. Thanks for the screen capture, showing CBS with 6 new documents. The "extra 2" don't add much, except more evidence of forgery. As if that is necessary ;-).

Reporters should be asking if they are journalists or just DNC retypists.

It's a safe assumption that there are no honest journalists in the MSM. Not a single one. No reasonable person give a journalist the benefit of the doubt.

I guess my whole thought is that you need the original documents to be put in front of an expert before it can be confirmed to be authentic. For CBS to suggest that a facsimile copy was authentic was very unprofessional. Even their one expert tried to rely on the signature to determine if the document was a fraud because the document had been copied so much. The expert should not have given any opinion until he had observed the orginal document. CBS should not have broadcasted those documents until they had proven the originals (not copies) were not fake. Shame on CBS. I had stopped watch CBS news some years ago but continued to watch 60 Minitues. Now I will never watch CBS's 60 Minutes ever again and will tell everyone I know what they did.

I'm placing my hopes on the one newspaper I think can be said to have the finest reporters of all the MSM: The Wall Street Journal. This story seems tailor-made for them and I would be extremely surprised if they didn't have a team of investigative journalists working this night and day. I predict, within the next few days, we will see a long article in the journal, complete with graphics, expert witnesses, interviews with most major players, etc.

I find it gobsmackingly incredible that no MSM has written a headline editorial saying, at minimum, that the burden is on CBS to authenticate its documents and sources. Dan is trying to shift the burden to those who don't have the best copies (because he didn't give them to us!). The MSM should resoundingly denounce that tactic.

Why should the RNC push for anything? This is exploding in the faces of the DNC and MSM just fine as it is. If the RNC or the Bush Campaign make too much of a fuss the rats will use that to turn the attention away from where it needs to be. Much better to let the situation continue to degrade naturally....each day this mess keeps getting a little worse for Kerry, the DNC, and CBS.

Reminds me of the scene in the Perfect Storm, where the Andrea Gail is trying to plow up this monster wave, only to be overturned and sunk by it....

Business as usual. When it comes to politics, the MSM works hand in glove with liberal causes and liberal politicians.

I do agree with your sentiment toward the Wall Street Journal. One of the best, if not the best in the world.

Somebody pinch this man and wake him up.

Did I miss the Justice Dept. getting involved? If not, no need to pinch me.

"Is this an attempt to once again, PROTECT the source?..."

Yes.

USA Today obviously knew that this was a smear and did not make this an exclusive story like CBS. However, even with that being said, they should divulge the source given that this was an obvious smear job.

I doubt they will, it probably leads back to the DNC, maybe even a Kerry staffer. IMHO

Another sign pointing to forgery... if these came from a file, there should be hole punches at the top or at the side.

You're right. I just pulled out a copy of my DD-214 (USAF 1961) and you can clearly see where 2 holes had been punched in it at the top. You can also see marks along the left margin where it looked like it had been placed in a clamp binder of some kind.

All of my military records were destroyed in the St. Louis fire of 1973 so that old DD-214 is the only thing I have left.

There were also 5 circles drawn around certain points of interest like "Character Of Service", "Date Of Entry", etc.

There is also a couple of check marks on the document. These circles and checks were placed on the DD-214 BEFORE it was reproduced.

I thought you might find that interesting.

USA Today has the biggest circulation in America. Obviously, the DNC wanted them to put out the story.

Something else for you to ponder. The Air Force used a different dating system than the CBS documents. For instance:

I entered the Air Force on X May XX. I was discharged on X May XX. My DOB was XX Mar XX. I think you see the difference.
