Liberate America from the occupation media! Viva La Revolucion!
Pukin Dog,
I took notice many weeks ago when you wrote to the effect that John Kerry would be sorry he ever ran for Pres. by the time this is over.
How right you were.
On this solemn anniversary I thank God for Pres. Bush, for our brave Armed Forces, and for the beginning of the end of the SRM (State-Run Media), thanks in no small part to FreeRepublic.
From an infrequent poster but proud FR member.
It was a good rant. I'm with you. We're all tired of the media bias. America deserves better than the MSM
BTW, nice work.
GO, PD, GO! Excellent! Are you going to send it to the MSM?
May I copy it and send it to my private email distribution? I'll give you credit (PD or do you want to give me your name?).
What's this about booing at the R convention???
Thanks again; this was simply awesome!

It's already too late for them, PD.
The networks and the rest of the "mainstream media" have had a monopoly on the dissemination of the news for so long that the emergence and dominance of the "new" media has not yet registered with them. Incredibly, they have failed to recognize that they are obsolete.
And maybe that is understandable.
For decades, Americans got their news after getting up from the dinner table and finding only three channels on their TVs, all spitting out the same news with the same liberal spin. The networks had a captive audience back then, and there was no alternative to their news, and certainly no dissent - - they were the only game in town. That same news was only regurgitated in the morning papers and the weekly news magazines.
It's no wonder they all believed they were invincible - - they were invincible.
But now that monopoly to which they became so accustomed has been brutally smashed to pieces by the "new" media - - talk radio, the internet (that includes us right here at Free Republic!), C-span, and 24-hour-cable news. It all came on them like a freight train and the liberal newsrooms don't know what to do. Their panic is palpable and the latest implosion at CBS ("forgery-gate") is a perfect example of that hysterical panic.
It's all over for them except for the crying.
Good riddance to bad garbage.
Bravo Dog - excellent rant!
I was fortunate to be able to attend the Free Republic picnic in Fresno today. And you know what? Someone said those exact words to the whole group. "God Bless FreeRepublic"
You're like Neo in the phone booth!
Now fly, fly away!
Yup. bump
Yeah, I saw that.
I sit around in my old flight jacket wishing I was young again. So there!
I even had Mr. Peach read it and I rarely do that. He loved it.
I think we should e-mail the entire thread to Rather and See BS.
No forgiveness needed, this is a great letter, and the icing on the cake, it is the truth.
Howlin started a thread two nights ago, and knowledgeable FReepers have proved you exactly right. We have them on the run, and they know it.!!
best part .. the audience they are losing in droves is the audience that has and spends money ... advertisers need exactly the audience they are driving away .. and one day it will all cave in on them
OOORAH
The first shot, heard 'round the world, has already been fired. They claim to be disciplined, the mightiest media army ever to take the field in the history of the world. They dismiss us as dull farmers, rebels and rabble, of no worth and limited talent.
They claim they will defeat us handily and drive us from the intellectual field of battle. The opposite is true. Our first great victory will be the downfall of Dan Rather. It'll be just like the first great victory of the American Revolution in the Battle of Saratoga.
General John Burgoyne ("Gentleman Johnny") was a man of limited talent but towering vanity. He attacked when he should not have, because he assumed that no mere Colonials could possibly defeat him. And in that arrogance lay the seeds of his defeat -- and ultimately the defeat of the entire British military establishment.
Parallels between Gentleman Johnny and Dan Rather are not coincidental, but instead are a very clear and objective lesson to anyone who has the perception to learn from experience.
P.S. The metaphysical death of Rather and possibly of the MSM following, are in my latest column -- first link below.
