Homeland Security official Asa Hutchinson on Thursday said the United States was on heightened alert for terrorist threats, particularly involving aircraft, ahead of the Nov 2 presidential elections.

Hmmm-

Just a thought:

"terrorist threats involving aircraft"

plus

"nuclear plants being secured"

That sure does seem to fit with OBL's original plan of flying planes into nuke plants. Interestingly, over at this site called "cryptome" is a recently released gov. requirement to upgrade security at nuclear facilities.

I don't know much about the "cryptome" site; it looks like they attempt to capture government memos and the like.

This was also posted over there today:

"A journalist writes, 5:45 PM, EST:

FYI, just spoke with a Justice Dept. spokesperson about this, who said, the [Ashcroft call to 93 US Attorneys] "was more of a pep talk, to remind them that we are sort of in the last quarter of the game and you have to keep your intensity up and your focus."

As for the reports that Ashcroft said an attack on the scale of 9/11 was imminent within the next six weeks - "none of that was said," according the spokesperson, who compared it to Joe Torre walking into the clubhouse and telling players, "'we're definitely going to lose.'"

When I asked the spokesperson if the attorney general had communicated an increased risk of a terrorist attack in the U.S. within the next six weeks, I got a flat denial. "No, he did not communicate increased risk in next six weeks," were the exact words.

What do you make of that wording- "last quarter of the game...?"
