Strikes in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania could cause mass casualties, and effect the election and ability of people to vote. While I think we all believe a strike would make the Country back Bush, a strike on the eve or early morning of the election will affect the reaction time and the time for millions to vote. Indeed, a huge strike would affect voters in many states, as people will be glued to TV, preoccupied with tracking loved ones, and unwilling to venture to places where there are crowds.
Certainly a bio/chem/radiological strike would have a huge effect on the place of the strike and the national mood. Five days before an election would allow us to focus, and still vote without distraction -- on the eve of an election, millions would be too occupied to vote.
Let's start thinking about major cities in swing states.

I think AQ would hold with the original targets - NY-DC-LA and the "east side"--as those are the cities they have urged Muslims to leave, repeatedly.
I don't think they care who wins the election, or which states favor President Bush or Kerry.
They are going for maximum death and destruction.
In their "religion"--ideally-prior to an attack, they warn- give the "infidels" a chance to convert, warn again, provide religious justifications--then go ahead.
OBL even went to the trouble of obtaining religious justifications for using wmd on innocent people in the US- and for killing Muslims in the process.
IMO they are deadly serious and will attempt to follow through with strikes on the identified cities.
