That *may* be inevitable. But there are *much* worse scenarios than the "suitcase bomb" - - dozens of warheads inbound atop missiles (launched from one or more countries) rather than a few smuggled in on ships, trains, or trucks.

Each warhead on any missle would be much more powerful than most smuggled improvised devices.

Japan will lay waste to North Korea if the North Koreans were so foolish as to launch a nuclear pre-emptive strike on American bases in Japan. North Korea threatened less than 48 hours ago to turn Japan into a "sea of fire" - - a loaded phrase with great significance - - that remark in March 1993 in Seoul directed at South Korea marked the beginning of this decade-long nuclear crisis. We would do the same to North Korea if the North Koreans were to have sold plutonium in Macao to the east Asian al Qaeda arms network they have supplied for a decade and that material finds its way into a nuclear device detonated in the U.S.
