When the CBS “never before seen” documents were first released, the Democrat’s were flush with excitement. This was to be their ANG-typist-for-truth moment. The DU was buzzing with excitement, there was no question in their mind that these documents were authentic.
As the Freeper brigade set into motion dispelling these documents, the DU crowd laughed at us like we were tinfoil hat wearing, crop circle investigating lunatics. Every allegation we made, they tried to debunk. It was so obvious to them that these documents were real, they couldn’t see how any rational person could think otherwise.
As the facts were gathered, and the truth reveled, they DU’ers went into depression, and the excuse squad came out. Now, they began to say that not only were the documents forgeries, but they were so obviously a forgery, that it had to be an evil trick being played by Karl Rove. While just hours earlier they were saying that we were idiots for questioning such an obviously authentic document, they are now saying the forgery was so obvious that no democrat would produce it. It must be a Rovian deception.
Now that CBS is not backing down from their story, the DU’ers are split. Some saying that it is so obviously authentic it shouldn’t be questioned, some saying it is so obviously a forgery that it clearly is a Republican trick. Some saying both, rotating between the two positions from hour to hour.
I’m sure when this is all played out, and the documents are proven to be fake, the DU crowd will forget how sure they were it was real before. They will stick to the line that it is so obvious a forgery that the republicans planted it in order to make the Democrats look bad. For now though, they can’t decide whether these are clearly real, or to amateurish a forgery.

The same thing was in effect for investors in early 2000. People wouldn't listen to any opinion other than the market was going to continue going up.
In discussing this with anyone ask, "Do you know what kerning is and why this proves beyond any doubt that these are forgeries?" If they don't know, educate them. If they say they do know, but are still uncertain, tell them truth means nothing to them and further discussion would be a waste. Don't argue. Cut off all further discussion. If you call them names, well, who am I to give further advice?
I just ask the DUers or whatever they are, download the CBS pdf's print it out, type the letter in MS word with times new roman i had to use font size 11 because i had an issue with my free version of acrobat. then hold the 2 documents up to a bright light bulb and tell me, was the CBS document made on MS WORD LOL
Honest question to those in the audience.
Let's pretend, just for a moment, that everything in these documents was true.
Why would anybody care?
Bush isn't running on his National Guard service. He doesn't claim it's particularly meritorious. In fact, he's admitted bad turns in his life.
More recently, he's been as good a commander-in-chief as we could get. (I doubt someone more hawkish could have been elected).
Why would someone think that votes would change over allegations more than 30 years old?
I know votes have changed due to the Swift Vets, but that's because Kerry made his service the focus of his campaign, which Bush had not. Try a thought experiment: Let's say Kerry had been elected President four years ago and was now running for re-election. Would he have continued to use his Vietnam experience, or would he have had to run on his actual record as President?
In short, why does this matter to anyone?

I think that's how everyone pretty much felt the last time they brought the whole National Guard stuff up. Nobody cares then and nobody would care now! Except for all the self-immolation going on - now that's a lot of fun!!!
A forged document story handed out by the Democrats during an election is a bigger story then what the document would say even if it were true.
The cover up is a new story. The ANG stuff is old. If the documents were real, it would prove little. if they are a Democratic plant, they will show how deceitful the Democrats are, and cast doubt on any other aligations they make, even if unrelated.
