I was still at the Academy and grad school in those years. I just don't recall being drug tested during UPT, or fighter upgrade -- but, I really can't remember that far back about the physicals, they did a lot of blood testing, etc. -- all I know is I had nothing to worry about!

Not in a "real" fighter squadron until mid 76.

I still have "surprise" drug tests -- compliments of the airline I fly for.

The Army's 3rd ID was making surprise drug tests in 1973. I know, I was picked to pee.

I was there at the inception of the program and watched "hot" samples come back pretty regularly in those wild, wild days in Germany.

I ets'd, went to college, seminary, and then Chaplain Basic course coming back on active duty for Phase I of the course in about Jan of 85.

I was welcomed with a pee test.

Neat site....a whole room of prospective Army chaplains -- priests, rabbis, pastors, etc. -- lined up at a desk, waiting for their turn to go to the urinal with their "guard" and drain their life's fluid into those little plastic bottles.

The damndest thing was that we'd just driven in and everyone had exited their vehicles and drained it prior to the first meeting.

Lotsa coffee and water being drunk. Lotsa jokin' going on.

Prayers for Pee. Team building around the pee bottle.
