Wow, he just denied on national TV the existence of any evidence to prove the fraudulence of the documents, even though CBS' own website is currently running a story that indicates otherwise. Some people can say anything with a straight face... they have definitely made a do-or-die decision on this story, which IMO is about the worst of all CBS' choices. They would have been much better off summarily firing Rather and beginning the next show with a heartfelt apology to the President by an ABC News executive.

And no evidence to the contrary? What a crock. They pull an interview out of their butt with a military person who spews some generalities about how things were done back then. How about interviewing Mrs. Killian and her son?

The game being played is for all the marbles. The lost marbles will be forever gone. No lie, no criminal act ,no disruption of the body politic is ok. The end justifies the means.

Rather knew in 2000 the election was lost and made a heroic effort to swing the Florida vote by calling it for gore before the polls closed.
