And she contacted the Colonel's son!!
IMO, this was done by someone who thought no one would dare to question Dan Rather.
"I hate typewriters, and cannot imagine having survived trying to layout a magazine on one!"
Well, it was actually kinda fun at the time, but I was nuts then and smoked a lot of wacky 'backy back then. Nice magazine, though, for the time and place. I still have one around here somewhere.
There's a bunch called Texas Veterans for Truth (sic), funded by a Kerry fund raiser, who have the military know-how to try to make this type of document.
Gasping for breath! Laughing helplessly! Such a wild, funny exchange!
Actually, they were Rove's panties that went on the terrorists heads.
Actually it would be "1LT".
To what avail? If they've been planted by Dems/Kerry/CBS to be discovered as phonies, haven't they perpetrated a fraud on the public anyway? There's certainly no law broken if Republicans question or prove the phoney documents false. But what excuse do Dems/Kerry/CBS have for displaying false documents? It's just too much to end in so small a victory as dashed hopes!
Now that makes since because I don't know of anyone better than Rather to messing around in Berger's pants.
You and I know that, but the people involved may not have thought that, for various reasons. The forger may have been an amateur, CBS being afflicted with groupthink and absence of critical analysis.
The only other calculus that makes sense is to keep something else out of the news for a few days, and risk the credibility hit as being short-lived and shallow-reaching.
Dems "At least the Swift Boat issue is off the air"
Have a look at this link about Mary Mapes....
If I were the Dems, I'd want the Swiftees back on the air. This current scandel targets both media and the Dem Party. The Swiftees is largely Kerry.
Dear MineralMan,
I think that perhaps the hoaxers weren't especially serious, and didn't think anyone would take them very seriously, upon careful examination. Probably just trying to pull a prank on a friend.
I think the hoaxers are likely as shocked to see the DNC, the Kerry campaign, and CBS all swallow their work as you are. Or I am.
I suspect it was a bit of fun and games that got badly out of hand.
And showed the (lack of) integrity of CBS, Dan Blather, the DNC and the Kerry campaign. And likely put the last nail in the coffin of the campaign for Spitballer-in-Chief.

excellent
Blacked out in the very last copy.
