I worked with and dated some Aussies a couple years ago--they were made of stern stuff (though one of the women I dated was a bit too New Agey/Goddess Power). The ones fighting in Iraq were pretty kickass.

Let me make this clear. Austalians are NOT deprived of firearms. I am getting so sick of this particular piece of misinformation being spread around as if it indicates we're a bunch of wimps.

I have several firearms myself. My neighbours have firearms. A huge number of Australians have firearms. It is perfectly legal for Australian citizens to own guns.

For some reason, some people in the United States seem to enjoy spreading misinformation about this.

Yes, we have some rather restrictive gun laws. Yes, there was a government effort in 1997 to remove some firearms from the community - but it was only a fairly small proportion of the total guns owned in Australia.

I have guns. Lots of us do. Unless you have a criminal record, it's not hard to own weapons in Australia.

I have a nephew, who recently was discharged from the Army, he is a Ranger and served in Afghanistan and Iraq. He stated that the Aussie special forces were 'the best', along with the Polish special forces.

They've done an unprecedented good job! ...caught and headed off huge numbers off attempts so far!

Folks, our President and his Administration are the best demonstration of American ingenuity and genuine love for their country's people than in any administration that we've seen in our lifetimes.

During his duty of informing us on USA business from time to time (addresses), President Bush does not mesmerize or entertain us to advertise himself for the next Election. He does not play the part of any popularity cult leader. He just does a great job of defending his country. As Commander-in-Chief, he has more time in our Defense and has demonstrated far more bravery than John Funnymoney Kerry is capable of.

This President...this man is for real, people.

even if kerry won, he would have to do something if we are attacked again. they will continue to attack the US when they can. Why would they stop with kerry? if they attacked under kerry, that would send the message that we are unsafe no matter what.

the only reason that they would want kerry to win is to see the Bush family defeated. they will continue their terror regardless of leads any country.
