McNamara was the one Republican (yes, he was (is) a nominal Republican) that Barry Goldwater attacked by name: said the defense secretary of the 1960s was wrong on nearly every major issue before his department.

I was not aware that MacNamera was a Repbulican. I didn't think a Republican could be that dumb.
