I think the Kerry press pool isn't going to like this. Kerry's team billed this as a major policy speech, encouraging every news outlet to cover it.
Now it turns out to be just another mish-mash of his previous statements with a few new slogans thrown in. They may be biased, but the press hates being misled, especially when they're all so hungry for Kerry to find his voice on Iraq.
I predict all the headlines will turn into "Kerry still offers no new policy on Iraq".
That's like his Midnight Madness Muskie Meltdown Moments speech. It was billed as major response to GWB's acceptance speech. Between the slurred speech and rambling, it was difficult to figure out what Kerry was trying to say. A major response--is wasn't.
You'd think that a major foreign policy speech would be well-written and practiced for delivery. It isn't a stump speech where he's talking to the ABB crowd. Is he listening to anyone?
The media will congratulate Kerry on addressing economic issues where America wants answers most, according to a recent MSNBC poll. It's the economy again, folks, not the WOT. Back to the Clinton playbook. While terror reigns.
