That's one big problem with Islam: there is no "chain of command." Anyone can declare himself an Imam, and if his sermons attract followers, "he is one."

So there is no Pope (for example) to say "ENOUGH!" and have his words heeded.

Am soliciting books on this for reading list before giving any opinions. Imperial Hubris is on it, also Terrorists Among Us. I have to order both, geographically challenged town.

Have you any book suggestions. And do you speak any middle eastern languages.

Maybe that is part of it, but I dare say most religions worldwide do not have a central leader, and most also do not routinely spawn terrorists.
