THE full horror of the Russian school atrocity began to emerge yesterday as traumatised children told horrific tales of stabbed babies and brutal rapes.
It has also emerged that scores of the 323 who died - including many children - had been shot in the back.
While despairing soldiers and rescue workers moved among the growing pile of body bags, it was revealed that an 18-month-old baby had been repeatedly stabbed by a black-clad terrorist who had run out of ammunition.
Other survivors told how screaming teenage girls were dragged into rooms adjoining the gymnasium where they were being held and raped by their Chechen captors who chillingly made a video film of their appalling exploits
They said children were forced to drink their own urine and eat the petals off the flowers they had brought their teachers after nearly three days without food or water in the stifling hot gym.
Their stories came as Russian officials warned that the final death toll of the siege of Middle School No 1 at Beslan in North Ossetia - in which up to 1,200 people were held captive - was likely to be more than 400.
The official toll yesterday stood at 323 which included 156 children, 10 Russian soldiers and two emergency service workers - 35 of the hostage-takers were also killed. Last night 434 people were being treated in hospital with 247 children and 85 adults in a critical condition.
A Russian official said six seriously injured children had been taken to Moscow for treatment.
"One of them is a child, just 18 months old, with many knife wounds," he said.

The US State Department has resettled about 200,000 Somali refugees in cities all over the US; so many in Maine that people are calling towns like Lewiston "New Somalia." They are radically conservative Muslims who genitally mutilate their little girls. Can anyone explain to me why the Bush administration continues to pander to these people, when it's clear what the consequences in the long run are (i.e. the school massacre?)

Yes, and it's a pattern toward a kind of global socialism under the guise of the UN and the EU lapping it up and concerned that we won't be joining them, at least with Bush in office. It makes Kerry's plan for complete capitulation to the UN over any constitution we have and appeasement all the more dangerous.
I saw a similar thread that I posted on prior to Putin's address. I mentioned that he should be contacting W at the ranch so they could fight this terror together. It was a thread about the EU being irritated at Russia. I was livid. And now that the initial shock is gone for all but the most directly involved in the monstrous atrocity, the people of Beslan, the media and lefties (are they one in the same?) are peppering their supposed 'reporting' with leftie editorializing. It is revolting. To think that Kerry is on this same line of thinking. I will post link when I find it. Even within Russia, there are people blaming Putin instead of the real culprits - the terrorists, and while there are may or may not be gaps in the borders and lapses or breaches in security in places, it is hard to imagine that some animals could unleash this kind of torture on people until it happens, just like the US with 9-11. I can't believe the little blurbs 'reporters' are putting in their reports that are more editorializing than reporting and always with a left slant. It's hideous for them to try to justify or dismiss this and yet they seem to have support in their thinking.

Every time I read anything more I keep hearing JFKerry words describing himself fighting a "sensitive" war.
There is a limit to that kind of Christianity and it doesn't apply to nations. I think the Pope should have looked at how there was a pattern --- a Muslim killed RFK, a Muslim killed Anwar Sadat, a Muslim tried to kill him, Muslims were killing Jews, killing Hindus, killing Christians.
For one the Christians in the Sudan deserved more outrage by the Pope for all the murder that was going on with them --- a Pope is a world leader and should not have been praised in any way because of the atrocities they have been committing.
Actually they don't if they allow these kinds of killers to be their leaders. They deserve nothing.
That's the whole problem with the idea of "moderate muslims". Can anyone imagine what would happen if a splinter group of Southern Baptists, or Lutherans or Orthodox Jews did this to children in a school? There would be no tolerance at all for their acts by their fellow religious group which would turn against them so fast. They would not have funding, their families would not get a large reward for their murder of innocents. There would not be apologists coming forward trying to justify what they did, everyone would condemn them.
If they willingly allow it, you're absolutely right. I just don't believe this is what the majority of Chechens want. I suspect this is a case of islam trying to take what doesn't belong to it. Imagine muslims trying to take over Florida, and the MSM referring to them as Floridian Separatists. That's what I'm picturing here.
