BESLAN, Russia Zalina Dzandarova cradles her son Alan as he sleeps with his small face buried against her stomach. He is the child Dzandarova was able to save. The child she chose to save, really.
It is the other one, little Alana, her 6-year-old daughter, whose image torments her: Alana clutching her hand, Alana crying and calling after her. Alana's sobs disappearing into the distance as Dzandarova walked out of Middle School No. 1 here Thursday, clutching 2-year-old Alan in her arms.

There's only one answer.
"Terrorism is a sickness. Meet the doctors"
I stopped in a small town high school in MA. and asked if they had contingency plans for a terrorist attack because I expect Al Qaeda to try it here. Both women in the office looked worried, but said basically no, and that we can't protect every single school in the country. I said, when there's horrendous loss of children's lives, there will be a backlash against the group that did it. They agreed and said they thought we'd been living in a dream world for a long time, that people, Arabs, Muslims, hated us and were insanely jealous and wouldn't be happy until the whole world descended into the Dark Ages again.
Nevertheless, we shouldn't hold the door open for Islamofascists. Schools need to beef up security as best they can. The feds had better come up with some kind of plan and fast.
The six year old may still be alive -- the story doesn't make clear, and may have been written before the situation came to its bloody conclusion. Over 800 people, mostly children, were hospitalized. Let's hope little Alanna is among them.
I heard that but how many of these tough terrorists went scurrying and escaped?
Bump to your ealier comment.
They are depraved.
I don't know how a mother/grandmother makes a choice either, I don't see how I ever could. I think you are correct on the why though, because it is my understanding from all that is posted here today on these atrocities, that the small children who in fact did run, were the first to be shot because they couldn't run fast enough, I also read those being treated in the hospital, all have gunshot wounds to the back
I know my friend, I've been on for hours readin/seeing so much, but this story for us being mother's was the hardest for me to take, just as the pictures of the children, and the parents who died trying to save them
OMG ~tears

God Bless the Children!
GOD BLESS THE PRECIOUS CHILDREN
By a.k.a. Gentle-Daydreamer
God Bless the precious little children.
Bless the newborn babies of the Earth.
Bless the babies made in His design,
Perfect from the moment of their birth.
Bless the children every minute of the day,
Whether they are napping or joyfully at play.
Bless the girls and boys who seem to have it all,
We know that there'll come a day when they'll surely fall.
God bless the children without moms to show them love and care,
God bless the children who grow up without their loving fathers there.
God bless the children who go to bed without any dinner to be eaten,
God bless the innocent undeserving children who are forever beaten.
Bless the precious child who grows up learning only what he lives,
Perhaps he grows up with a loving heart, or not learning to forgive.
Perhaps his parents used the strap to teach - instead of words of love,
These are the unwanted children God, who need your help from up above.
The smallest child to weak to fight off terrors that a child should never know,
God bless that child, and watch over him, protect and allow him to safely grow.
The wretched little children who have to fend for themselves just to survive,
It makes me question their very birth, and why you chose to give them life.
I know I shouldn't question and that blind faith and trust are my commands,
But there is so much abuse to the children, God, all over this worlds lands.
Whose job is it to oversee the precious, helpless child with so many unmet needs,
Who will be there to love and comfort, hug and hold, through unselfish and kind deeds.
God bless the precious child who never has felt a kiss or a friendly touch or hug,
What can we do for a child like that, who make our tears flow and heartstrings tug?
God bless the precious child who will never know what a loving family is about,
God bless the precious child who every day searches for love and goes without.
The chechens have long been islamic and recently were overtaken into wahhabism.
