I never heard of anyone being rushed to the hospital with the diagnosis of quadruple bipass already predetermined. Heart attack? I wish him well and hope he has a speedy recovery.

Guess they did a test and found the blockages and decided surgery was immediately necessary. Happened to a friend of mine. He felt weak and dizzy. Hours later he was under the knife.

I had a friend that was admitted 1 day after it was determined that that there was a blockage. He was having pains in his back - went to the doctor in the morning. Went for a second opinion in the afternoon - and was in surgery the next morning. I think if the blockage is severe enough they rush 'em in.

Don't care for Clinton of course - but certainly am praying for a positive outcome. It has to be scary..

Perhaps he'd been previously diagnosed as headed for trouble, and this surgery had already been recommended. When the trouble finally hit, there'd be no delay in deciding to immediately proceed with the surgery.

I had something similar happen to me during the 2000 election. I went to the doc, told him I was feeling awful, I ended up getting rushed to surgery for a quintuple that same day. Agree that it is odd that they knew it was going to have to be a 4x for Clinton before they opened him up, but heart medicine seems to be advancing at a really rapid pace. They can probably do things now that they couldn't do four years ago-- and I doubt that Billyjeff is going to Podunk General for it- so he's probably got high-end people and technology working for him.

I appreciate that Freepers are taking the high road in this matter in spite of the personal feelings that I'm sure we all would normally have, and not gloating like the adolescents at DU would be, were things the other way 'round.

I had a friend a couple of years ago who was rushed to the hospital for double bypass after a routine exam. He was not experiencing any symptoms at that time.

It is possible, but not usual. Most will ignore the symptoms, write them off as something else. Must've been pretty significant, if Clinton went to the ER.
