I meant "great news" that it was the President's speech rather than Zell's that caused discomfort, NOT that Clinton having heart problems was great news.

Actually, from the little I've heard in the confusion, it sounds like an ongoing series of minors, leading to denial and then to an inability to ignore the problem, that led to a doctor's appoint for a checkup which found an imminent massive probable and led to him being scheduled for surgery.
For those who are confused about the possibility he might have surgery tomorrow, he'll be under assessment and loaded with monitors and emergency equipment in the ICU...and if the signs show somebody needs to do the surgery on a Saturday or Sunday, that's exactly what will happen. This happens for peasants, too.
