Hmmmm? Angry are we because we're being challenged ..??
I think you forgot this little detail:
"John Wilkes Booth was born on a farm near Bel Air, Maryland, about 25 miles from Baltimore".
The shooter was A YANKEE!! Not a Southerner. That's why your analogy doesn't work!! Booth might have been living in the south at the time, but he did not consider himself to be FROM the south.
Hope that wasn't tooooooo many neurons for you to handle.
You see a challenge requires a legitimate argument, which you have to provide.
What you have established is that my approximate facts were incorrect, but have failed to explain why this invalidates the analogy.
In fact, I am not certain that gentlement with a knife was not a registered Republican. Otherwise how did he get a pass into the convention? I admit this is speculation.
If you care to respond with an intelligent analysis of why you 1. beleive my analogy to be incorrect and 2. why you think it is appropriate to condemn an entire group for the acts of an individual, I will continue the conversation with you.
If you chose to once again respond like a thoughtless, hothead nut, I will put you on my list of the same name.

Please recall Baltimore was the scene of anti-Union
riots during the war.
And of course, the Maryland State Anthem, which
contained (in part) such stirring lines as
"...the despot's heel is on thy shore" [referring to Lincoln]
or this gem
"Huzzah! She spurns the Northern scum."
I believe the legislature finally got around to changing
the more objectionable lyrics in '83...that's 1983 (or so).
Full Disclosure: grew up in Maryland, got away as
soon as I could. (Recall Spiro Agnew was from MD...)
Full disclaimer: I did not re-research these lines before
posting, I am paraphrasing from memory. Hey, Ann Coulter
could show up on Fox "at a moment's notice" :-)
