The anti-war protests of the 60s and 70s were largely responsible for swaying public opinion because they went unanswered. That is one of the greatest regrets I have regarding the war. Our troops went unsupported in public, because conservatives couldn't get off their asses and show them how much we appreciated their sacrifices.
Today we're doing it again, and it's unforgivable.
If the left can get out 50,000, we should get out 500,000. If they can get 250,000, we should get out 2.5 million.
It's disgraceful what is taking place without opposition. If you think these folks aren't swaying public opinion, just look at what they democrats feel emboldened to support in public. I think you are kidding yourself.
They're not. Nobody's watching this but nerds like us. Everybody else is out enjoying a nice summer weekend.
There's no one to sway, Doughty. No die-hard Bush supporter will change their minds because of these people, nor will die-hard Kerry supporters change. And anti-war doofi are not going to make their decisions on these Michael-Moore wannabes.
If I recall there were a number of Rallies across the country where conservatives came out in support of the troops ..
As for the DNC convention .. they pretty much shut down the whole town that even the folks that lived and worked there couldn't get in
