I think profiling works.

I hope his teamates bought him a beer after this.
A member of the New York Police Department bomb squad inspects contents of a suspicious package from a backpack on a street near Union Square in New York on August 28, 2004. A Pakistani and a US citizen who shared a hatred of the United States were arrested for planning to blow up a New York subway station near the Republican national convention site.(AFP/Mandel Ngan)

Fine. Let them all go in there, then rope them off with concertina wire until the convention is over. Maybe throw some bottled water and Froot Loops over the fence, perhaps a roll of toilet paper or two. Problem solved.

I agree. I hope NYPD profiles with wild abandon this week. I'll contribute to their defense fund.

Rove, in his Brit Hume interview called them "democratic protestors."
Brit tried to correct him and tell him all the groups wouldn't be democrats, but Rove went right back to his talking point about them being sympathetic to the democratic platform, etc.

Yeah, he needed a cold one after the officer opened it up and found a pair of dirty, maggot infested boxers from some Berzerkley malcontent.

Well geeze Brit, It's unlikely to be Republicans, because most of us have JOBS and FAMILIES thus wouldn't have time to get arrested by the NYPD.
Who does that leave?

Let them do it.
A riot by the left means votes for Bush, as long as the police don't over-react.

I hate to say this but, politically, if the police are "loaded for bear" it will hurt Bush. Especially if they are not doing any damage.
The police need to respond with arrests, and not get filmed beating protesters with nightsticks.

It's Central Park, not Bunker Hill.

It was sarcasm. These tree-huggers are concerned with all living things, unless it impinges on their "right to protest".

The RATS have to do something like this because they want to draw attantion AWAY from the convention coverage and onto themselves. The big question in my mind is will the "tactic" work? Will this disgust voters enough to vote for the President or will it have the opposite effect?
