Three people are being questioned by police and another is in hospital after anti-poverty activists crashed an Ontario Liberal Party barbecue in Toronto.
About 100 Members of Ontario Coalition Against Poverty gathered outside the event yelling at party members.
In a news release issued earlier this week, the coalition called the fundraiser ``a disgusting exercise in groundless self-congratulation that needs to be responded to.''
Police reportedly used pepper spray to subdue protesters.
Premier Dalton McGuinty's office responded to the event saying the leader has worked hard in his first year as premier to try to eliminate poverty.
What this cries out for is the Conservative Coalition For Poverty.
Did there own coalition memebers protest their own gathering? Aren't all Canadians liberal?
I'm telling you these people are getting out of hand and if something isn't done they will wreak havoc with the rule of law and civil society.
Is this "Liberal and Liberaler"?
Chanting "Fee fi fo fum, I smell Liberal scum," Ontario Coalition Against Poverty activists soon began shouting obscenities -- "Dalton McGuinty, F--- you!" -- upon coming face to face with the 25 or so police officers and eight mounted cops guarding the large house owned by host Joseph Kurian, 70.
I thought that was the definition of liberalism.
Left and Lefter.
That's it?
How about tear gas and bloody heads like in the good old days?:)
This is CANADA we are talking about... the move to pepper spray only came after the police were done asking "move, please, pretty please please, with nuts and bananas and whipped cream with a cherry on top"?
When Canadian police fire their guns, a little stick comes out, and a piece of fabric drops from the stick. On the cloth are the words, "BANG".
A pox on protestors and protestees alike.
