Democratic presidential nominee U.S. Senator John Kerry tries to help clear a path for a horse by safely standing WAAAAAAY to one side far away from the horse and holding his hand up at about 1/2 the height of the horse whose path he is trying to help clear. This is known as the smart, nuanced way of clearing a path.
