Two passenger aircraft have crashed within minutes of each other in Russia and a bomb has exploded on a street in Moscow.
No connection between the incidents, apart from timing and the fact that both flights originated in Moscow, is certain.
Meanwhile, a bomb injured four when it detonated at a Moscow bus stop. The device had a force of between 100-200 grams of TNT, according to a report on Itar-Tass
Moscow Times reports that the bomb was planted near the base of a lamp post not far from a bus stop close to house 30 on Kashirskoye Highway. "First a loud hissing was heard, and then something banged," one witness told the MTimes
Chechen websites such as Kavkazcenter.com that normally carry detailed after-action reports have not yet mentioned the incidents.

To avoid further terrorist acts, the Russians should get their troops out of Iraq.
Oh wait a minute, the Russians don't have troops in Iraq.

Hey, you mean the Russians didn't provoke Islamofascists to attack them?
Heaven forefend that we continue to get such news ~ it will definitely undermine the NYT ideology that seems to counsel so many intellectuals in America.

Two jetliners explode in the air and a bomb goes off in Moscow. So what's the lead story on cnn.com. Why Abu Ghraib, of course.
To: The KG9 Kid
yeah a terrorist by any other name is still a terrorist.

Panties on the head versus heads blown off, absolute moral equivalency, of course.
Some days I feel downright immoral!

I have a nephew in Moscow and he is moving out in a month or 2. He says the level of violence and threats of violence against him has increased several fold in the last year. A son of a friend moved there in January and moved out in March. Too dangerous.

Weird that they'd set so small a charge.
What makes you think they knew what they were doing?

Surely if Russia would just stop supporting Israel these terrorists would leave them alone.

If you get a chance, take a gander at "The Connection" by Stephen Hayes. Although he is talking specifically about AQ and Hussein in Iraq, the ties between the different groups become obvious and apply in any situation, including this one. It becomes clear that these guys are all "in bed" with one another, despite different goals among the groups. They all have one goal in common: they hate the West.
Should they (Heaven forbid) succeed in wiping out the evil West, however, I have no doubt they would quickly resume backstabbing, assassinating, and blowing up one another.

or even the Chechens
The Chechens are being backed by Al Qaida. As of this morning, however, the Russians are saying that there is no proof yet of terrorism.
As suspicious as it is, that two planes went down at once, it still could be a horrible coincidence. Remember another American Airliner crashed shortly after 911. Everyone suspected terrorism then also.

Remember another American Airliner crashed shortly after 911. Almost a month later not a few minutes. There was however, quite a bit of speculation at the time that it could also have been terrorism

The Russians are going to be sorry they promoted terrorism as a political force. Chechens and AQ may have access to nukes.
