Dole can defend himself, and has done so admirably. So can Laura of course, but we Texans have a history of defending our womenfolk. Therefore, would you care to post a few links to their "statements" so we can assess the threat level and determine if the lady's honor has been besmirched?

I'm a couple of years younger. But wouldn't the world be a vastly different place if he had. The Vietnam war would have had totally different ending, Tricky Dick would never have become President, so no Watergate for the left wing reporters to make their bones on. Heck he might have been succeed in '72 by Ronald Reagan, who ran a good primary campaign against Ford in the real world in '76. The Soviet Union would have fallen apart in about 1980, maybe sooner since AuH20 would have many Reagan like foreign and military policies.

That's about .57 caliber close enough to .60 caliber, maybe he was firing a VC machine gun? Seriously, the author probably meant an M-60 machine gun, which is .30 caliber (7.62mm).

The hypocrisy of this man is outstanding. On one hand, he calls Dole, he calls the swiftboat vet, he gets Bush to denounce the ad; and on the other, he releases more negative ads trashing GW about the swiftboat vets and his connection to them. In the meantime his 527's are spending millions attacking GW, while the media supports him and protects him. It's a win-win situation for Kerry.
