Main excerpt: " However in the famous words of Al Jolson: You aint heard nothin yet. The Swiftees have prepared an October Surprise for Hanoi John that is going to blow his candidacy out of the water. I cant tell you what it is, but I can tell you the television and radio ads have already been taped, and they are going to have an impact like an elephant sitting on a donkey.
The Swiftees have three things in abundance: money, brains, and balls. They know exactly how to go for the jugular, they have the dough to do it, and they are saving their best shot for last. The Democrats will not know what hit them and will not know how to retaliate. Get set folks. The Kerry Train Wreck is not going to be a pretty sight. "

heh heh heh
Actually I'd say it will be a beautiful sight indeed.
"The Swiftees have three things in abundance: money, brains, and balls. "
They have some of my money and they are going to get more!!
exactly my thought - it's not an ad it's a video on the internet.
Or... is Wheeler using the term "October Surprise" as a generic term, not actually referring to dates?
hmmm. Interesting point.
Someone else who claims an October surprise for Kerry.
What you are watching, folks, is a 30 year old festering boil on the backside of American being lanced. It's been a long time festering and although it's going to look ugly to those who don't remember Vietnam, to those who had no one there, but to those of us who did......it's going to look like blessed healing.
George Will mentioned it also. A 28 minute documentary. The DEM hack had the "Oh crap" look.
Do we have a really definitive reading on this? It has me worried.
I've been wondering about that myself. But I suspect that unless an ad instructs you how to vote that it cannot be blocked. Just a suspicion.
Simple.
It's a documentary film.
As such, it is exempt from the CFR.
Just like Mikey Moore is.
Moore's movie will be running right up to election day and beyond, because, after all, it's a "documentary", and failing that test, it's "art".
"I heard something on the radio today...could've been on either Steve Malzberg's or Monica Crowley's show...about a documentary film (& I'm not using the Michael Moore definition of documentary ;-) "
George Will also talked about this documentary this morning on The Stefie Show.
They should burn it into CDs and send them to every home in America. Like those annoying AOL CDs.
How are they going to get a 28 minute documentary seen?
Obviously the Swifties can put it on the Internet, then the reporters will hound the candidate get the Kerry camp on the record about the allegations, and then the Main Stream News media will go into full court press to find out the truth for the good of the American people because it would be terrible if a total liar were to make it to the White House (again)...
527's will be up and running right until NOV 2nd - With the DEM's ouspending us by over $150 + million.
I have a feeling they have enough footage of Kerry at the congressional hearings to make a TV ad that will obliterate Kerry's presidential hopes
Both good questions, but an October Surprise in late August seems a bit of a misnomer. I'll be eagerly awaiting it sometime before September 2nd...
I hope they call the documentary "Fahrenheit 1968"
I think they can run ads if they are backed by small donors. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Same for Moveon.org.
