"They're already saying that Kerry wasn't really accusing the vets of these atrocities -- he was just repeating what he heard other people say."
That RAT talking point is laughable. Kerry was a spokesman for the group, testifying before Congress. He was leader in the Winter Soldier "Investigation".
The hypocrisy and stupidity of Kerry and his campaign is just unreal.
If Kerry wants to raise some money for his campaign, show some balls ........... republish "The New Soldier"!
I'll buy one (steal one) and I'm sure there would be a bunch of other takers!
Show the whole country who you are JOHN EFFIN DELUSIONAL!
LOL!
What!!! You want logic, consistency, honor, integrity in reporting by the mainstream media?
I haven't seen the actually text of Rood's statement
But according to this article .. it seems Rood said that it wasn't Kerry who beached his boat
The Boston Globe said it was Kerry that beached his boat and rec'd a silver star for it
You can listen to the Cal Drinking Song at this page. On the Rate-A-Record scale it wouldn't hit 40. Not a good beat and you can't dance to it.
Welcome again.
And you added,"As a Viet Nam vet I have to agree with your post. I mentioned at a men's prayer meeting yesterday that I thought this could be the time (3 decades late) when the healing could begin."
It saddens me that it took over 30 years for the brave men and women who fought so unselfishly for our great country to have their side presented publicly. I am so proud of the Swiftvets and the others who fought in Vietnam, and I agree that this is the "Revenge of the Patriots." John O'Neill of the Swiftvets is wonderful and has my eternal respect as a super-patriot.
My brother is a decorated Vietnam vet who was a first lieutenant in the infantry, and I know that the success of the Swiftvets is a cathartic for him.
"Podesta....not a good choice on Kerry's part"
Maybe there wasn't anyone else who was willing to go. Where are all the usual suspects: Kennedy, Biden, Sharpton, Rangel, et al?........... (crickets chirping)
bump for bookmark
Was Dole on the first hour or second hour of Blitzer's show? The first hour goes out to CNN International all over the world, but the second hour less so.
Also for anyone who gets CSPAN radio, Blitzer's show is replayed in the afternoon, I think about 3pm eastern time.
Yes he was around that age. He was old enough to be a grandfather in some parts of this country.
;-)
Kerry had no radio communication with any one back on base???
Is Hurley stating there are no radio logs from back then???
Sorry, FRiends, but a stoat is a weasel, and a lemming is a rodent (looks kinda like a hamster...hmmmm...maybe a drowning hamster?).
Meanwhile, John O'Neil and his Swiftboat vets face the pundit bullets and keep on firing. I absolutely love these BRAVE MEN. (I feel my second contribution coming up. LOL)
Classic moment. Krugman's jaw drops when George Will discusses the 28-minute, POW documentary set for release by the SwiftVets on September 1st.
I was expecting Will to say that the SwiftVets would have to have to stop 60 days out of the election. A documentary from them would be devestating, and keep them in the news.
Kerry should make a few bucks, show us what a real honest man he is, and REPUBLISH "THE NEW SOLDIER".
What do you say?
Show all of America what makes you tick, Johnboy, and HATE YOUR COUNTRY!
Reviewing their book, Unfit for Command, and answering questions raised in the book will also give them continuous TV and print media attention. Since their TV spots do not advocate voting for a specific candidate, can't they also continue these ads too?
I haven't studied the incident in detail, but think there are two separate beaching incidents.
I also haven't read Rood's story all the way through, but none of the snippets I saw include or intimate the key phrase in Kerry's Silver Star citation, "attacked a numerically superior enemy while under intense fire."
It is entirely possible that "Rood also confirms that it was another of three swift boats touring together that day that actually beached at the ambush site, not Kerry's boat. It was Doug Reese and other troops, not Kerry, who disembarked, killed some Viet Cong and captured some weapons" is not inconsistent with Kerry beaching at some other time and/or location. The action took place over some length of the river.
