An an e-mail to TVNewser, MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann has a message for Michelle Malkin: "I'd say to her exactly what a veteran sage reporter once said to me after I made a terrifically bad rookie mistake on a newscast in Los Angeles: 'I'm very proud of you, you have great courage. If I'd just done that on television, I'd go home and open my veins.'" He'll be Hardblogging about it again today...
double dit-ditto
Why does Olbermann's statement not rise to the level of a "hate crime"?
After all, he was the one who uttered those memorable words about our nation's worst cable news channel.
He actually wasn't a bad guy, even if he was an unreconstructed leftist.
In fact, he's probably a much more competent journalist than his former comrade-in-arms in the "Young Lords", Geraldo Rivera.
Geraldo Rivera:
Tonight we'll examine a deadly trend that has been sweeping the Internet recently. That's right! Troll infestation. I swear, I would strangle those trolls with my bare hands, just like UBL. DON'T MESS WITH GERALDO!
Geraldo,"Tonight we'll examine a deadly trend that has been sweeping the Internet recently. That's right! Troll infestation. I swear, I would strangle those trolls with my bare hands"
Pot meet kettle. Geraldo and his liberal biased journalist ilk have been media "trolls" since the beginning of print, radio and television. I would like to know who they have to answer to besides their editors? Who peeks into their closets and rattles their skeletons? Journalists, self appointed moderators of life, what a joke. I am sure Geraldo's ex-wives would like to strangle his philandering neck too. Nothing like a tyrant who demands control. Yawn, go away narcissis Geraldo, you're not too sexy for your shirt.
He sounds sad and desperate each time he tries to come across smug and self confident. I'd LOVE to play poker against the guy.
We know it, and in his own heart HE knows it.
It's pretty sad how far Matthews has fallen. There was a time I respected the guy to some extent. I even did a paper on his book Hardball back in college. Saw the guy in person in Georgetown, too. This was a long time ago and he came across as informed and pretty fair for a guy with clearly Dem sentiments (as could be expected given his resmume). But he's become totally unhinged in recent years, sadly. I have no more respect for him. He's done, and that's a shame because he's not a stupid man IMHO. He was once a decent analyst and pundit. Now he's just the Jerry Springer of political commentary.
(Opens Al Capone's vault. It's empty.)
DAMN! Now I'll have to get a real job.

... as if yarn spinning were ever really a "job".
99% of journalists, glorified rumor monger$ and gossip whore$ wearing adult diapers hurling feces.
My cable system has never even bothered to carry it. I don't think anyone has noticed.
If I'd just done that on television, I'd go home and open my veins.
...makes one wonder how many times he's missed?
Doogle
I thought it stood for "Democrats Unleashed to 'F' the United States".
I don't know, but that was a very brutal statement. You would think he would say something a little more general like, "I think I'd commit haraKiri after that act".
And to actually tell her to go do it, well, it's just terrible.
Heh-heh...
I agree with your take. Malkin could have stopped the whole discussion with a quick "No, I'm not saying he did it deliberately. I'm saying that the people who were there say that there's a strong possibility that Kerry accidentally shot himself. And you weren't there so how would you know whether he did it or not."
I couldn't believe that she didn't expect that Pissy Matthews would be so rude given that he's been foaming at the mouth to attack anyone of the swiftees.
