The response will be, "It's 30 years old, why dredge up the past," along with handful after handful of doodoo to smear the vets. Kerry will fall back on his "Unfortunate youthful overenthusiasm." The NYT will carry his water. Many more papers will ride on the back of NYT. But it won't work.

- I believe Kerry was either 28 or 29 when he got involved with the Jane Fonda crowd and testified at the hearings. Someone of that age is expected to be past the "youthful over enthusiasm" stage.

It won't work because even DUmmies will remember the 30 year old AWOL charges, and 25 year old DUI charges the press trumpeted against GW Bush.

Thus the next installment will tell how he (and McCain) suppressed evidence of live Vietnam War POWs in order to "normalize" relations with Vietnam. That was much more recent, just over 10 years ago, IIRC.
