What a story this is! By the slimmest of happenstance, Kerry is served up on a platter and the men he slandered have the opportunity and the guts to set the record straight.

Not only in this powerful ad, but throughout the news coverage and interviews, the SWIFT vets prove themselves time after time to be calm, dedicated, and courageous.

The political aspect is now to me irrelevant. I will be cheering these guys on (and sending money) whether it helps or hurts Bush.

The story, from beginning to end is one of principle vs opportunism and courage vs cowardice.

Without their fighting hearts right now, it would be only a sad story of ruined lives. Now it is different, it is turning into a triumph of spirit.

A Great big thank you to hinterlander, particularly for the Fox Fire link. BTW, it is a super browser!

Now, if there ever was an ad that would kill someone's quest for a leadership position, there it be.

The words that preceed out of his own mouth shall destroy him.

When I was 13 years old and watched JFK's testimony in 1971, I thought he had some kind of b___s to speak out so forcefully.

Now that I am older, and have had opportunity to read about the contradictions in his story, learn of his abbreviated service in Country, and hear from the POW's and their demoralization as a result of the JFK Senate Testimony, I can see that he was completely self-serving.

I WAS going to donate $25 to Swiftvets.com to keep their first ad on the air - but after having seen this second ad, I IMMEDIATELY pulled the trigger and donated $100. I strongly encourage everyone to give what you can...especially after reading that drivel in the NY Times this morning. Fire for effect!

I was born just as the Vietnam war was ending. Only one person in my extended family served for a time in Vietnam, and he had a cushy experience.

Yet this ad gave me goosebumps and almost had me in tears, because I know the meaning of truthfulness, honor, and patriotism. I also believe that the Ten Commandments came from God. And He warns us not to bear false testimony against our neighbor. What Mr. Kerry said is incredulous; it is so bewildering how he could have said those things.

I think we are overstating the impact of this ad. The Kerry supporters believe that the troops really did commit the war crimes, and even if not, Kerry was right to lie about it, in order to bring about a quicker end to the war.

I think the first ad makes the libs squirm more.

This one will do more to solidify the right than to peel away the moderate Dems.

Watching the new Swiftboat's ad is like watching a surgeon slicing into Kerry and ripping his heart out. It was powerful and chilling.

Knowing that my small contributions helped them get this message out is the best money I have ever spent.

This one will sink him (pardon the pun) if it gets significant airplay. This should have been the focus from the start. This focuses the disagreement squarely between the veterans and Kerry, not Kerry and Bush. Notice that nothing in this ad has anything to do with Kerry's war service itself. It focuses on what he said when he got back. I wish the swifties had never brought up anything about his service other than the fact that they did NOT commit war crimes and did NOT venture into Cambodia.

Thank you!

A former neighbor who died five years ago was a Green Beret. One night my wife, brother and sister-in-law were swimming with him and his wife. I noticed a severe scar on his left knee and asked if he played football.

His reply put a chill on the evening.

He was captured and held prisoner for two years. During the first days of his capture, the Viet Cong ran a bayonet through his left knee and put a wire through it and tied him to a tree so he could not run away. But, he said the worst part about captivity was the aftermath when he learned of fellow Americans saying he was a war criminal.

This ad is for you Willis...RIP.

This is powerful. Any veteran that views this add and does not feel a surge of emotions.. has no patriotism in their soul.
